School Management System [ SMS ]

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

The School Management System [SMS] will replace the paper based data
collection and information exchange system among the various departments
of a particular school. The School Management System provides an
innovative solution for Today’s school record keeping challenges. School
Management System opens a universe of opportunities to automate the
laborious paperwork involved in proper school management. With our
proposed record-keeping software, the management can more effectively
interact with the students as they develop skills and character for success.
It offers technical excellence that supports different types of model to satisfy
the browsing needs of any clients. We know that managing school has
become tougher with each passing day. SMS provides a full control over the
system with using our user-friendly features. They will not only have more
time to spend with them, but it will be quality time because they will have up-
to-date student information to facilitate them.

1.1 PURPOSE
The purpose of the School Management System is to assist schools in

CHAPTER 2: Overall Description

The student management system allows authorized members to access the

records of academically registered students. It can be used in various
educational institutes across the globe and simplifies working of institutes.

2.1. Product Perspective

The proposed system shall be developed using client/server architecture and
be compatible with any web browser. The front end of the system will be
developed using Bootstrap 4, HTML and backend will be developed using
PHP 5 and Ajax and use MySQL for Database.

2.1.1. User Interfaces

The SMS will have following user-friendly and menu driven interfaces

a) Login/Register: to allow the entry of only authorized personnel of school through email
validation using their email records.

b) Admin Panel: to handle the whole system, by one or more expertise of the school.

c) Employee Panel: to handle the work making the job of the employees quick, reliable and
automated.

d) Student Panel: to get the required information from the school like attendance, exam
reports, academic details and many more.

e) Website Page: to display the details of the school, providing facilities for admission and
fees payment.

2.1.2. Hardware Interfaces

a) Screen resolution of any size.
b) Users can use the system from any platform e.g. Mobile, Desktop,
Laptop etc.
c) The system requires quite good internet connection to operate.
d) Apache Server is required to run this system.
