Growth Trajectory

In the beginning of ninth grade, I wasn’t the student who is on top of the game. My trait

for ninth grade is careless. Careless was my trait because I was very disruptive in class. For

example, talk a lot even when the teacher was speaking. I did not complete my work and I just

did what I wanted to do at the time. During my ninth grade summer, I had a family gathering. My

family talked about what I needed to stop doing and what I needed to start doing. Ever since

then, I have changed the way I am. Now that I am in the twelve grade, I can consider myself

responsible because I turn in my work on time or when it’s not too late. I also attend school

everyday and attend school events that are mandatory. Lastly, I reduce the conversations that I

have in class and speak less. I will be a responsible person and complete the things that I need

to do in college and my future career.

When I was in ninth grade, my communication skills was not the best. I had trouble

speaking fluently and speaking with confidence. By this, I was not able to get around school and

communicate with other people. Later on through high school, I presented a project called the

interdisciplinary project. This project improved my communication skills drastically and has

increased the level of confidence that I have in myself. I would do these projects one to two

times a year and by the time I reached twelve grade my communication skills have greatly

improved. Now that I have this skill, I can present without hesitation, speak to professionals, and

acquire information from other people. In my new path, I use this skill in upcoming college and

when ever I need to communicate and present to others.

Lastly, during ninth grade my behavior was satisfactory. Although I was respectful, and

friendly, I talked a lot in class, and would disturb the class with my conversations. One day when

I received my report card, I notice that a couple of teachers commented and saying that I was a

class distraction. Ever since then, I realize that I needed to change or else I would keep

receiving these types of comments which made my dad unhappy. Now that I am a twelfth

grader, my behavior is excellent because I respect the teachers and respect their time. I also

pay attention and take things seriously. By having this behavior, I will avoid trouble in college

and in my future career.
