Dear Parents,

Hello!! My name is Mrs. Kelly Peak. I am excited to get to

know you and your child and be part of their learning
environment.

My mission for your child’s classroom is to maintain a

positive climate and motivate the students to take charge of their
learning. To do this, I plan to help your child recognize his or her
academic strengths and learning styles, and guide them towards
becoming independent learners. I firmly believe that when a child
recognizes their strengths, their academic world becomes
rewarding and less challenging, and learning independence
follows.

About Me
Even though this will be my very first year as a classroom teacher, I would
like to ease your worries by sharing that I have many years of experience working
with children in and out of the classroom. In fact, my college experiences starting
with the most recent include 2 semesters of student teaching; one in Special
Education setting and the other in a fourth-grade Elementary classroom, six
semesters as a classroom observer, and 2 years as a STEM camp counselor. Prior to
the college experiences was my 17 years as a Paraprofessional which I worked with
Middle School students within various academic subjects and settings, and 10 years
as owner/operator of a licensed Family Daycare. Collectively, each experience has
provided me with opportunities for helping children learn and grow into strong
independent learners.
On A More Personal Note
I have been a Gratiot County resident all my life, so this area is very dear to
my heart. I love spending quality time with my husband, two daughters, a grandson,
my dog, Simba, and cat, Shia. I also enjoy outdoor activates of camping, fishing,
snowmobiling, viewing nature, gardening, and admiring classic cars.

Once again, I am very excited to be part your child’s education during the upcoming 2019-2020 academic
school year.

Please feel free to contact me at klpeaks@gmail.com with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelly Peak
