TRAVEL INSURANCE

❖ Something that cannot be stressed enough is the necessity for

travel insurance.
❖ When travelling abroad things can go wrong quickly and your
carefully planned budget can leave you without money in a strange
place.
❖ https://www.axa.co.uk/ - AXA are a company I have previously
worked for and know are a reliable company when paying out
policies.
❖ When booking insurance be sure to look at the excess and
coverage you need.

Passport

Always ensure that you have a minimum of 6 months validity on your

passport from the date or return before travelling.
Anything less and there is a good chance you will be denied entry into a
country.

Always make multiple copies of your passport, visas and flight details.
Take at least one copy with you and store separately and leave one with
someone back home.

10
Money/Credit Cards

It is always a good idea to take 2 different cards when travelling

overseas. Credit Cards are preferred but Visa or Mastercard debit cards
will also work in most countries.
Store cards separately in case of mugging or losing your wallet.

Make sure before you travel that you register any countries with your
bank to avoid them blocking transactions. This can usually be done
online through your banking log ins.

11
Register Your Travel

Most countries request that you register any overseas travel online
before leaving. This means that you are registered in case of an
international emergency with your local consulate.

The UK currently does not have this facility for its residents.

12
WHAT TO DO IF YOU LOSE YOUR
PASSPORT?
1. First thing you need to do is report your passport as lost or stolen to the local police.
2. A close second is to report your passport lost or stolen to your government, usually there is
an online form you can fill out on the government website.
3. You will then need to phone/email your nearest embassy to make an appointment to get an
emergency passport.
4. You will need to bring 2 x passport photos and proof of identity (ie. driver’s licence) to the
consulate.
5. If processing time for the new passport will affect your flights, you will need to contact your
travel insurance provider to have them change you flights.

13
WHAT TO DO IF YOUR BAGGAGE IS
LOST?

1. Go to the baggage claim desk and report bag as missing

2. Make sure you get a tracking number and leave your contact number and address.
3. Once you have a tracking number you will be able to check baggage status online using the
airlines baggage website. Eg, Emirates -

A lot of countries require vaccinations, below is a link to a site where you
can check the shots needed and book to get them at a local clinic:

One thing that you need to take into account when travelling
overseas for filming is the baggage restrictions for the airline
you’re travelling on.

CUSTOMS REGULATIONS ON CAMERA EQUIPMENT

Always be sure to check custom regulations on how much camera equipment

you can take when travelling internationally.

Most countries will not have restrictions but countries such as Mexico you can
