Additional Requirement: Sour Service

1. MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1.1. Applicable Standards:


ASME Section II (latest edition)
ASME B16.5 (latest edition)
ASME Section VIII Division 1 (latest edition) – including UG-77 and UG-78
API 660 (latest edition)
NACE 0175 / ISO 15156 (latest edition)

1.2. The certificate must be mentioned that the material is in compliance with NACE 0175 /
ISO 15156.

1.3. Forged shall be supplied normalized and produced to fine grain practice

1.4. Material shall be hot-forged and shall undergo an appropriate heat treatment after forging.
Flanges shall not be machined directly from bar.

1.5. Material shall have guaranteed properties on the basis of simulated PWHT according to
the intend heat treatment of the vessel and provisions for repairs. As minimum,
mechanical characteristics and toughness values of raw material shall be guaranteed
after 2 PWHT cycles (1 PWHT after fabrication + 1 PWHT for repair). Consider
additional stress relief for 3 cycles requirement as (PO-EIP/DEI-022- Attached in the
purchase order), only test piece.

1.6. Shall be performed a impact test -29º C. The acceptance criteria must be in accordance
ASME VIII Div. 1 paragraph UG-84.

1.7. All materials shall be free of:


Defects which cause a sudden transition on the surface;
Defects which reduce the thickness;
Corrosion above grade C of standard ISO 8501-1.

1.8. Materials shall be new and unused and shall be identified by the Manufacturer with heat
number to the material certificate, using the criteria of code ASME Section VIII Div. 1.
Marking in accordance to ASME Section II.

1.9. The material shall be stamped with round nose steel stencils in a permanent, legible
manner with the material grade, steel manufacturer´s heat, slab, and serial number
designating the part.

1.10. Test Report required.

1.11. Original material identification required.

In case of any divergence, the most stringent requirement must be followed.

1.12. Supplier to provide company with original mill certificates and test records of all
materials/components used for this project.

1.13. Materials must be supplied with a Certified Material Test Report (CMTR). The CMTR shall
include the unspecified element chromium (Cr), columbium (Cb) {also known as niobium
(Nb)}, nickel (Ni), vanadium (V), molybdenium (Mo) and copper (Co) that are used in the
formula to calculate the carbon equivalent (CE) as defined by NACE MR0175 or NACE
MR0103.

1.14. Flange faces shall be visually checked for verification of the condition and type of grooves
being unacceptable corrosion or dents at the sealing surface.

1.16. Flange facing shall be Raised Face for ASME Classes 150, 300, 600 and Ring Joint
Groove for ASME Classes 900 and above.

2. SUPLEMENTARY CRITERIA INSPECTION:

2.1. The materials shall comply with the relevant certificates per BS EN 10204 type 3.2

2.2. NOTE: Personnel performing Nondestructive Examinations (NDE) shall be qualified to


minimum Level II of ASNT-TC-1A.

1. Scope This MDS specifies the selected supplemental requirements in the


referred standards and additional requirements which shall be
added to the corresponding requirements in the referred standard.
2. Chemical As per referenced standards with the following additional
Composition requirements:

- Seamless Piping and Fittings (ASTM A234 WPB/WPC and A106


B/C):
C < 0.20 %
S < 0.008 %
P < 0.020 %
V < 0.020 %
Nb < 0.020 %
V + Nb < 0.03%
CE < 0.38% [CE=C + Mn/6 + (Cr+Mo+V)/5 + (Cu+Ni)/15

Nickel content in filler material and weld deposit shall be less
than 1.0%.

Plate materials shall receive an appropriate inclusion shape


control treatment by addition of calcium. The use of rare metal is
not permitted.

3. Heat As per referenced standards with the following additional


Treatment requirements:

Wrought Fittings to A234: Normalized, annealed, or normalized and


tempered in compliance with NACE MR 0175 / ISO 15156 Part 2
Annex A.

Welded pipe to API 5L: Normalized. However, stress relief will be


also acceptable as per NACE MR 0175 / ISO 15156 Part 2 Annex
A.2.1.6.

Seamless pipe to A106: Heat treated in compliance with NACE MR


0175 / ISO 15156 Part 2 Annex A.

Forgings to A105: Normalized

Plates to A516: Normalized

All quenched and tempered piping and components with wall


thickness above 19mm shall be tempered at a minimum
temperature of 630 °C.

4. Mechanical As per referenced standards with the following additional


Test requirements:

Hardness testing shall be performed as per NACE MR 0175 / ISO


15156 Part 2.
Maximum hardness for ASTM A105N shall be 187HBW
5. Impact Test Impact testing shall be conducted in accordance with ASTM A370.
Impact test temperature shall be -29 °C. Full size specimens (10
mm x 10 mm) shall be used. Acceptance criteria shall be:
- Average of 3 specimens: min 20J
- Minimum of 3 specimens: min 16J
6. Test Samples for production testing shall realistically reflect the
Sampling properties in the actual component.
For furnace heat treatment, the lot is also limited to components
heat treated together.
Hardness testing shall be carried out to the same extent as
specified for tensile testing in the referred standard.
7. NDE As per referenced standards with the following additional
requirements:

Longitudinal welded components (API 5L B and A234 WPB/WPC)


and plate material (ASTM A516-70N): Plate material shall be
ultrasonically tested in accordance with ASTM 578 Level C.

Longitudinal welded components (API 5L B and A234 WPB/WPC):


100% RT and 100% MT on weld seam
8. Marking The product shall be marked to ensure full traceability to melt and
heat treatment lot.
9. Weld Repairs Weld repair of base material is not acceptable.

10. Additional Material and manufacturing processes shall comply with the
Requirement requirements of NACE MR 0175 / ISO 15156 Part 2 and 0003-
s MI20-00S1-0200. NACE MR 0175 / ISO 15156 compliances shall
be included in the 3.2 Mill Certificate.

Steel shall be made by low sulfur and phosphorus refining process


such as electric furnace with double de-slagging or in basic oxygen
furnace (BOF). Steels shall be vacuum degassed while molten
