Time to Stand Up
Again, for the fifth (5th) straight year, PEA will fight in mediation to settle the contract.
Why? We don’t know why the District continues to do this. We do know what it
means. It means that PEA members will need to organize in solidarity for the District to
settle the contract. It means that our work isn’t done. It means that members must
continue to tell the District to settle the contract because:

 Members have worked most of the 2018 - 2019 without a signed contract.
 The state of California gave PUSD 3.7% additional money for the 2018-2019
Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA).
 District offered 1.25% for salary increase even though the District has received
Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) of over $119 million for 2018-2019.
 PUSD’s percentage of total budget on Certificated members has declined over the
last three (3) years
 District spends over $2.6 million to contract outside psychologists, behaviorists,
and speech pathologists; but will not make significant changes to the current
salary schedule to attract and retain staff for PUSD.
 We now must fight like Oakland and Los Angeles to get RESPECT!!!

Plan to join us:
