a. With the aid of a phasor diagram obtain the relationship between the line and phase values of voltage in a
three-phase, star-connected system
b. The star-connected secondary of a transformer supplies a delta-connected motor taking a power of 90KW at a
lagging power factor of 0.9.
If the voltage between the lines is 600V, calculate the current in the transformer winding and in the motor
winding. Draw circuit and phasor diagrams, properly labelled,

c. Explain with diagrams what do you understand by
(i) in-phase (ii) lagging (iii) leading as applied to sinusoidal ac quantities

maintenance factor to be 0.8

Instructions: Drawing Sheet will be supplied


Answer all questions from Part A and 3 full questions from Part B
Assume further data, if found relevant
Credit will be given for following standard architectural drafting and detailing
conventions.
PART- A

I. Write short notes on:


a. Explain the parameters to be considered while detailing a particular architectural
element.
b. Graphical cross referencing system.
c. What is Reflected Ceiling Plan drawing? How is it drawn? And what all are ideally
indicated on a RCP?
d. Explain various schedules included in the construction documents.
e. Explain the role of specification in Construction documents. Explain different
approaches in specification writing.
f. Write a note on the checklist to be followed while completing staircase detail and
drawings.
g. Explain the pros and cons of CADD detailing over manual detailing.
h. Explain the sequence of work phases traditionally required in every architectural
project from initiation to completion. Where is the Architectural detailing fit in the
process?

PART- B
II. The ground floor plan of G+1 residential unit is given in figure 1. The soil condition of the
site is relatively hard. Assume necessary details required for the drawing.
a) Prepare the central line drawing with all required dimensions for earth excavation
(Scale 1:50).
b) Draw to the suitable scale, the detailed section of recommended foundation.

(Figure 1)

III. The floor plan of a single storied building shown in figure 2. The roof structure is simple
hip roof with R.C.C and the foundation with rubble masonry. Assume all other necessary
detail required for drawing. Draw the detailed section AA. The drawing should be detailed
with material specification size etc. (Scale 1:20).

IV. Draw the interior elevation of a toilet of size 210 cm x 150 cm in 1:50 scale, for a hotel
room. Indicating the finishes and location of fixtures. Consider the 20 cm Brick wall,
Ceramic Tile finish and wash counter with granite top.

V. Design a wooden panelled door of size 1mx2.1m for a residential building.
a) Draw to a scale of 1:20 detailed the elevation and section to show the wooden door
components and their sizes.
b) Draw to the suitable scale, the detailed section to show the joinery details of door
frame, shutter and style.

VI. The key plan of a 1BHK unit located in an upper floor of a multi-storied residential
building is shown in figure 3. Prepare the electrical layout plan for the unit. Legend
should be shown in tabular form to indicate the height of various fixtures from finished
floor level. (Scale 1:50).

VII. Assume a toilet of size 2.4mx1.4m, which is located in 5th floor a multi-storeyed
residential building.
a) Prepare a neatly drafted detailed plumbing layout plan for the toilet including the
plumbing duct detailing.
b) Sectional elevations of any one appropriate side to show the height of various
fittings from the finished floor level.
