Hi I’m Oisín

and I’m Emma!

We’re Tracker Scouts just getting back from a camp-out.

We think Trackers are cool because we have adventures
with our friends.

We get to camp out together and look after ourselves

We have fun, explore in the outdoors & discover new things

We challenge ourselves (it can get scary sometimes!)

We try to do our best and we help others too...

Will I have adventures?

Yes! You start with some small adventures and you will
need to learn some skills of course!
 

The Skills Trail

To have fun adventures with your friends you need to have

skills. If you want to go sailing you should learn to swim,
right?

When you’ve learned some skills you can go on bigger &

bigger adventures more safely. You don’t need others to
do stuff for you so much. Don’t worry, you don’t have to
know everything. In Scouts you get to learn new things all
the time.

At the start of every adventure your Patrol and your

Scouters will help you to decide which new skills to try
out, or to improve on.

There are nine groups of Adventure Skills to choose from.

There are lots of things you will need to learn to be awarded an

Adventure Skills Badge. Do your best to learn what it says in this
Handbook and then chat with your Scouter and your Patrol

The nine Adventure Skills help you to learn things like:

How to pitch a tent
How to make and use a map
How to build a bivouac shelter
How to be safe in a boat
How to fly a kite
How to judge the weather
… and many other things!
