Artifact Reflection 2

My Inspired Teacher Collaborative Group Presentation encompassed many of the

Teaching Performance Expectations. This is a great representation of what should be included

as my first artifact of my Showcase. While working in my group, we discussed the positive

impacts of the TPE’s in assisting teachers as they focus on becoming better in their field. We

made valid points, but two that really stood out to me were TPE 6, Element 1 and TPE 6,

Element 5 (CTPE). I did not reflect during my first year of teaching as much as I would of liked.

It was challenging and difficult as I was trying to keep my head above water. TPE 6.1 was

discussed in our group and I began to understand the power of reflection (CTPE). We were

doing it throughout that assignment. We also connected it with TPE 6.5 as we learned how it is

our professional responsibility to not only strive for improvement through reflection, but use

this reflection to impact the learning for all students (CTPE). This conversation was inspiring as

our passion for students and teaching helped me to better understand my responsibility as a

teacher.

My knowledge as an educator has grown because of this assignment. Moving forward,

my Growth Plan with involve continuous reflection. It is a such a power tool in my

development as a teacher. I plan to meet with grade level peers to utilize their experience as I

improve to meet the needs of all learners in my classroom. I will seek out their advice and take

risks to find the best avenues that can best improve all my students. As I think about inspiring

my students, I know that motivation and dedication will affect them greatly. They will see daily

how motivated I am to continue to get better as a teacher. My effort will was obvious to them.

They will see my dedication and hard work as I will always be a life-long learner, striving for

continuous improvement to inspire them to be more.
