LESSON PLAN Subject: Math

Trainee: Reem Munssir Topic or Theme: Fractions


Alkarbi

Class: 3D Date & Duration: 25th March 2019 – from 9:20 to 10:00

Trainee Personal Goals:

I am working on time management and supporting the low-level students. I will manage my
time by playing a timer to remained me during the lesson and I will support the low-level
students by observe them and scaffold them during the lesson.

I want to do the full lesson with the all parts which they are opening, activity and ending as I
planned but with great teaching from me and full understanding from the students.

Lesson Focus: Fractions on a number line

Lesson Outcomes:

At the end of the lesson the students will be able to represent and locate fractions on a number
line.

Links to Prior Learning:

The students already done with fractions on a number line opening.


I thought them last Wednesday factions on a number line it was the opening of the lesson; this
Monday it will be the second and the last lesson about fraction on a number line.

Key vocabulary

Fractions, number line, marks, points, spaces, distance, shading, shaded, label, represent,
shows, locate, draw, and fraction bars or strips.

Possible problems for learners: Solutions to possible problems:

Common errors: Students do not label a point or a mark I can fix this misconception or
on the number line correctly. error by asking the students to use
a shading method.
For example, if the questions say draw a point to show
2/3, a student may label the point at 1/3 instead of 2/3. Student shade from 0/3 to 1/3, and
1/3 to 2/3 to understand that 2/3
represents the distance from 0 to
that point.
