TRANSYT 14.1.

2 RELEASE NOTES
TRANSYT 14.1.2 was released on 19th September 2012.

A summary of new features incorporated into this maintenance release (and previous releases) of
TRANSYT 14 is given below.

For instructions of how to register the software (if appropriate), please see the
SOFTWARE_REGISTRATION document provided with the program.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, please note that you may need administrator
permissions to install the software. Please also refer to the supplied installation instructions which are
part of the SOFTWARE_REGISTRATION document.

Results from TRANSYT 14.1 should give good agreement with earlier major versions of TRANSYT
(versions 12 and 13) where newer features in TRANSYT 14 have not been activated. Results should
also give good agreement with earlier releases of TRANSYT 14. Results may differ from earlier
versions/releases because of modelling improvements and some subtle differences between the
implementation in each release of each version.

For further information on any of our software products please email us at software@trl.co.uk or go to

Latest releases:

Summary of new features improvements and bug fixes in 14.1.2:

“Framework "Graphics Export, Text Rendering Error" fault (which is associated with using
Windows 7, and either NetCon‟s “Copy > As Metafile” or the Report‟s Advanced option “Use
Metafiles”) is now fixed
Network administrators can now use the Network (copy-protection) option "Automatically
Configuring Client applications" to define the licence types that the product searches for
Australian stage split times can now be specified as a percentage (of the cycle) via the data
editor and is also reported in the “Resultant Stages table. N.B. This feature is activated via
“File Preference / Localisation”
OD Matrix manual “Allocate flows” button fixed
Multi-selection delete option in NetCon now consistently works (e.g. does not fail when
NetCon maximised or docked)
Timings Diagram now recognises all second phases
Minor OD matrix changes made in order to restore intended functionality, (e.g. better
indication of when Path‟s “Percentage” and “Fixed Flow” are not used; and path selection now
correctly activates highlighting of the path in NetCon).
X-Y graph occasionally failing to plot some points now resolved and the results grid now
correctly populated.
Task List warning message now raised when maximum phase length is exceeded during its
green period(s)
Reasons behind the “Simplified network results” warning fixed
Unexpected queuing at CPDM flares when they straddle the boundary between two OD
matrices is now fixed. N.B. CPDM flares should always be modelled such that they do NOT
straddle two or more OS matrices – such CPDM flares will not be treated as flares.
Obscure crash associated with the renaming of phases now fixed
Files are now imported (e.g. TRANSYT12 / TRANSYT 7F) as Advanced Mode files
Revised User Guide (Issue J) to reflect most of the changes above

www.trlsoftware.co.uk/TRANSYT. If a new version is available, maintenance holders
can download the new version at any time via our download service by following the
steps below:

1. Send an email to software@trl.co.uk stating your name, customer ID and site, and
requesting a download code for TRANSYT STANDARD or NETWORK VERSION. You may
also telephone or fax TRL Software Sales.

2. You will be provided by return with a Download ID, which will be valid for three days.

3. Browse to www.trlsoftware.co.uk/downloads

4. Enter your download ID and press the Download button. The download for the
appropriate version of TRANSYT will then begin automatically.
