ACTION PLAN FOR IMPLEMENTING PRE-MONSOON
SOWING IN VIZIANAGARAM

• Identification of lead farmers to be completed by 25th of


March
• Training of identified lead farmers in the 1st week of
April
• Pre positioning of inputs ( Ghana Jeevamrutham, Mulch
material) by 2nd week of April
• Commencement of sowing from 2nd fortnight of April
• Weekly reporting of PMS taken in the cluster through
CRP,CA,NFF to the DPMU
• Exposure visits to lead farmers for cross learning in the
1st fortnight of June and 1st fortnight of July
Experiments to be conducted by NFFs

1. Different dates of sowing (1st fortnight , 2nd fortnight of


April and 1st fortnight , 2nd fortnight of May)
2. Different quantities of Ghanjeevamrutha (400kg,
600kg,800kg and 1000kg)
3. Different types and quantity of mulch materials
( paddy straw, paddy husk, Crop residue of pulses,
Sugarcane trash)
4. Combination of crops ( 8-10 crops)
5. Application of Drava Jeevamrutha (at 7days , 15 Days
interval)
6. Various methods of sowing ( Line sowing, Broad casting)
MONITORING MECHANISM
1. Pre-monsoon monitoring cell at DPMU headed
by AO-ZBNF
2. Cluster level monitoring and recording of
observations by NFFs at fortnight intervals
3. Whatsapp group on pre-monsoon with all lead
farmers, CRP,CA,FNGO
4. Regular visits of Pre-monsoon plots by DPMU
