NOT JUST A SINGLE MOM BUT A SUPER MOM

“Being a single mother is twice the work, twice the stress, and twice the tears, but also
twice the hugs, twice the love, and twice the pride”, as a child of a single mom I can say that
what I see in my mother is she will do everything just for her children despite the hard work,
stress and tears the she shed. But exchange to it is a hugs and love that she receives from her
children, and the pride she gain for facing the world on her own---without a partner.
It’s been 4 years since my mother start being a father and a mother to us. When my
father leaves as my mother took the responsibilities that my father should have done. My
siblings and me, especially my mother felt the sorrow for losing the man of the house. My
mother is trying her best to fill the hole in our hearts even if she will become empty. Every
morning a single mom should wake up early just to cook breakfast for her children, she is the
only one who will do all the household chores, working ‘till late at night, paying the bills like
electric bill and water bill, and cry herself to sleep. A single mother has a principle and that is
“My child always comes first”, a mother puts all of her wants and needs aside for the sake of
her children. A single mother should be for being as single parent because they had the courage
to do it alone, the strength to never give up and the love she give to put her child’s need before
her own.
A single mom is a teacher because she taught me how to disregard my fears, and she
calmed my cries by showing me that life goes on. She shows me how to take my hanging head
and hold it up high and proud. She is a doctor with her tender touch and loving care. She’s the
soothing of the soul and the healing of the heart. A single mother is a woman who is filled with
everlasting, unconditional love, and words of wisdom to guide the way through life. It is hard
growing up without a father but it feels and looks easy because of having a fantastic mother
who both plays roles. For me, super heroes are real and they are called single moms.
