ABSTRAK
Kemandirian anak berkebutuhan khusus bergantung pada orang tua. Kesulitan pada saat
mendidik anak berkebutuhan khusus tentunya akan lebih sulit dan dibutuhkan kesabaran dari
orang tua. Peran orang tua yang aktif, berusaha meluangkan waktu, memberi pelatihan serta
lingkungan sekitar sangat berpengaruh bagi anak sebagai penguat untuk setiap perilaku.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan peran orang tua dengan tingkat
kemandirian personal hygiene pada anak berkebutuhan khusus di SLB Negeri Jombang.
Desain penelitian ini adalah analitik cross sectional, populasinya adalah semua orang tua
yang memiliki anak berkebutuhan khusus di SLB Negeri Jombang berjumlah 60 responden,
sampelnya berjumlah 32 responden dengan teknik proportional random sampling,
variabelnya ada 2 yaitu variabel independent yaitu peran orang tua dan variabel dependent
yaitu kemandirian pesonal hygiene. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Teknik
pengolahan data menggunakan editing, coding, scoring dan tabulating. Analisa data
menggunakan uji “chi square”. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan dari 32 responden terdapat
sebagian besar responden berjumlah 18 berperan aktif (56,25%) dan 17 responden (53,13%)
memiliki kemandirian personal hygiene mandiri. Hubungan peran orang tua dengan
kemandirian personal hygiene anak berkebutuhan khusus aktif dan mandiri sebanyak 11
responden (34,4%). Hasil uji “chi square” dengan SPSS didapatkan (ρ = 0,04), sehingga H0
ditolak. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan peran orang tua dengan
tingkat kemandirian personal hygiene pada anak berkebutuhan khusus di SLB Negeri
Jombang.

ABSTRACT
Self-reliance were children with special needs depend on the parents. Difficulties when
educating children with special needs would be more difficult and requires patience from
parents. The role of parents are active, try to spend time, training and the environment is
very influential for children as reinforcement for each behavior. The purpose of this
research is to analyze relation of parent’s role with independence personal hygiene of
children with special needs in SLB Negeri Jombang. This research design was analytic cross
sectional, population are all parents who have children with special needs in SLB Negeri
Jombang number of 60 respondents, the sample amounted to 32 respondents with
proportional random sampling technique, the variables in this research consist of 2
variables those were independent variables was parent role and dependent variables was
independence personal hygiene. Collecting data using questionnaires. Data processing
techniques using the editing, coding, scoring and tabulating. Data were analyzed using “chi
square” test. The results of this study, of the 32 respondents are most of the respondents
were 18 active role (56.25%) and 17 respondents (53.13%) have the independence
standalone personal hygiene. Relations with the independence of the role of parents of
children with special needs personal hygiene active and independent as much as 11
respondents (34.4%). The results of “chi square” with statistic test obtained (ρ = 0.04), so
that H0 is rejected. The conclusion of this research is thatthere’s relation of parent’s role
with independence personal hygiene of children with special needs in SLB Negeri Jombang.
