Family Means Hope

Too many kids have been disregarded and lost within the foster care system. The system

is already over filled and many kids go without the proper care they need. Child Protective

Services (CPS) was formed to ensure the wellbeing of children yet by going into the system

children often encounter more horrific experiences. Kids develop more problems as a result from

being in the system causing trauma that they carry into adulthood.

The donators who fund private adoption agencies need to be made aware of the horrors

children experience in the foster care system so they can push the owners to allow ANY couple

fit to adopt the opportunity.

State laws are at fault for the continued discrimination against same-sex adoption.

Lack of knowledge/attention (social acknowledgement) on what goes on in the foster care

system is to blame for the many young lives tragically ruined.

Warped views on what is best for children is responsible for the continued discrimination against

same-sex adoption.

It is crucial that people understand all of what these kids may be at risk of facing and

weigh the options. When you look at the bigger picture it isn’t hard to see what the right thing to

do is. Keeping kids away from a family that may provide them hope for a better future solely

because of the potential parent’s sexual orientation isn’t looking at what is best for the children.

The facts are the number of children in the foster care system is ever growing and many of these

children are not getting the attention they need instead they are seen as a nuisance. Children are

thrown in to environments with several other children and often over looked and mistreated in

countless ways. Getting rid of laws that make it difficult for same-sex couples to adopt would

open up more opportunities for children to be placed in happy homes with a chance at a brighter

future.

Why people discriminate against same sex couples adopting: Being a homosexual is

viewed as a sin and they fear the encouragement or outbreak of this sin. – Many people raised by

same-sex couples have not grown up to display the same sexual orientation. Many straight as

well as religious couples have had children who are homosexuals.

The alternative is purposely allowing children to stay in the foster care system which

exposes them to a greater risk of physical/sexual/mental abuse that can carry on for years. By

allowing this more of society is condemned to a dim dark future of crime and mental health.

Children who never find a home are thrown in to a world with no money no shelter to fend for

themselves.
