ACTION PLAN IN ENGLISH

I- RATIONALE

Based on the result of the previous National Achievement Test and during the Pre-and Post-evaluation of the subject
learning areas specifically in English, Barucboc National High School didn’t meet the standard of NETRC which is 75% of
prescribed in the Department of Education thus the English department designed, developed and shall implement intensive
program to help achieve the prescribed percentage of the department. It primarily aims to strengthen ethical values,
encouraging critical and creative thinking, and developing moral character and personal discipline of the Filipino youth.
Further, it improves the journalistic and macro skills of students concerned and promoting responsible and 21st century
learners. In addition, it contributes to the implementation to one of the major goals of the School Improvement Plan (SIP)
for C.Y. 2016-2019 which is increasing academic performance of the students. Students whose journalism skills are
harnessed are likewise can excel in other academic areas. This is an application of the theory of the transfer of learning.
