Teamwork will help kids communicate with others, increase their social skills and self-confidence, and help them to
develop into happier adults. Teamwork teaches kids important skills and life lessons, and it is essential in our
workforce. As we wrap up a year in STEAM of robots, simple machines, human brain models, seed dispensers,
handmade paintbrushes and coolers, coding lessons, and countless other engineering projects, I have clearly seen the
importance of teamwork. This is a life long skill that kids can use long after they have forgotten what we built in
STEAM. It is hard to work on a team. It is hard sometimes to take the time to listen to other people's ideas. It is hard
to compromise our own great idea to incorporate everyone's ideas into a task. In STEAM, we are daily practicing these
skills. Sometimes we have really good days and the teams get along, encourage each other and accomplish great
things. Other days there is frustration and sometimes tears, but each time we all learn something new and build on this
life long skill. We are finishing up the year with coding activities...and we are using our teamwork to figure it out!
