APPLICATION OF FINGERPRINT RELAXATION TECHNIQUES TO
REDUCE PAIN INTENSITY IN POST HERNIORAPHY PATIENTS
Mohamad Ajib Muthohar ABSTRACT Background: Hernia is the discharge of the contents of the abdomen through a defect or weakest part of the wall of the cavity in question. One of the interventions carried out to treat hernias is surgery, one of which is hernioraphy, which causes pain. Pain is an unpleasant feeling that can affect a person and is subjective. The approach used by pharmacology is by finger hand-held relaxation techniques. Therefore the purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the application of hand-held relaxation techniques to reduce the scale of pain in patients post hernioraphy surgery Method: In this method there was 1 patient with a post hernioraphy patient who complained of pain in the former surgery. Here, patients are asked to hold their fingers while regulating their breath for about 30 minutes Result: The results of this study indicate changes in the scale of pain obtained from the observational scale using the numeric rating scale (NRS) method. changes can be seen from the patient's response before and after handheld relaxation therapy. scale obtained before therapy 6 and after it is done into 3 Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that the procedure for finger hand relaxation can affect the level of pain scale in patients with post hernioraphy Suggestion: the hand-held relaxation techniques is recomended for nurse to reduce pain intensity post hernioraphy Keywords: Finger hand relaxation technique, Pain, Post Hernioraphy
