1. The factors affecting ELT development today are as follows:

a. Education
Education is an important factor in ELT practices.
 The factors: higher education trends, the international student mobility,
and globalization of universities.
For examples: Students exchange, English curriculum, and variation of
teaching learning in English
b. Economy
Economic activity is the interaction between one person to another for getting
some a goal.
 The factors: the knowledge economy, job market, emergency economy,
and business outsourcing.
For example: Busines between different countries that use English for the
negotiation.
c. Technology
Technology is one of the factors how ELT grow up.
 The factors: technology trends, news media, and language on the internet.
For example: In this modern era we can get any information in the world
from internet, and there are many sources that can help us to find the
information.
d. Demography
Demography is a study of the population.
 The factors: global population, changing age structure, and people
movement.
For example : When the worker has been old it would be change with the
younger age, and the oldest will get a PHK or pension.
e. Society
Society is a study of social trend in some group.
  The factors: social cohesion, the growing gap, society trends, middle class
future, urbanization, and charging life style.
For example: Growing gap, in java people that younger should use Kromo
inggil when they want to say or talk something to the oldest

2. How do the developments of English language today AFFECT the following

domains:
a. English language pedagogy
The schools require to the students for using two languages (bilingualism) as like
as English and Arabic or French or German.
b. Learning models
The model is like a passing English exams that make a condition of students
promotion or graduation.
c. Affect for other language
There are many people use English in this era, so many people want to master the
English language or native speakers. Even he isn’t from a country that uses the
original language (English) as like Singapura, Australia etc.

3. What can you predict or project about the English language teaching and
learning in Indonesia (or other country, as agreed) in the next decades? What
about other national and/or local languages? Please briefly explains and provide
examples.

In my prediction, English in Indonesia will grow up quickly. Because there are many
English books that used and applied in great schools. Indonesian people also know
that English is international language so it is so important to live in this globalization
era.
What about local language? I think English won’t replace local language even
English is the most language that needed in Indonesia, because local language is still
studied in the curriculum Such as Java language. Java language is still used and
studied by many people in the village. As like as when they are negotiation in
traditional market, and also the children are prefer to use Java language when they are
playing.
4. As an English language learner, what is your stance/position/opinion/attitude
toward English language learning? What are your considerations when
reflecting on your stance? Why do you think or feel so?
What about your stance as a pre-service English teacher? Your stance as a
community member? Your stance as a parent-to-be?

According to my opinion, English language learning in university is not good enough,

because there are many teacher that only give some subject to be learned without
giving any subjection, conclusion, or any comment to their student. Learning English
should be reproduced skills for teaching practice and how to speak English well.
If I’ll be a teacher, I will teach students’ vocabulary using story media. So the student
will get more practice in their class. I will also use the game to develop their
understanding and their memory, so the students will not be bored.
As member of the community, I will create a language course that can help other
people to increase their economy just like in pare. Be side we can develop the English
language in our village, we can also develop our village economy.
As a parent, English is very important right now. So, I will give English knowledge
early to make easy for children to learn. As like giving children song that using
English and ect.
