Dear Vizcarra,

I’m writing about the state of Machu Picchu in our country. It is a fantastic place to visit on
vacation, but it has suffered a lot of damage from Peruvians and foreign tourists the last years. I
feel that we have to protect this place because it is part of the legacy of our ancestors and we can
give some rules to the visitors. People can’t throw trash. They can’t walk with food or bottles. In
addition, they mustn’t paint the ruins. Besides, people always must be with the tour guide. On the
other hand, government can’t build buildings or another kind of construction around the place.
Besides, government can’t give license to a company to modify this place. In general, Peruvians
have to take care Machu Picchu.

Estoy escribiendo sobre el estado de Machu Picchu en nuestro país. Es un lugar
fantástico para visitar en vacaciones, pero ha sufrido muchos daños por parte de peruanos y
turistas extranjeros en los últimos años. Siento que tenemos que proteger este lugar porque es
parte del legado de nuestros antepasados y podemos dar algunas reglas a los visitantes. La gente
no puede tirar basura. No pueden caminar con comida o botellas. Además, no deben pintar las
ruinas. Además, la gente siempre debe estar con el guía. Por otro lado, el gobierno no puede
construir edificios u otro tipo de construcción alrededor del lugar. Además, el gobierno no puede
dar licencia a una empresa para modificar este lugar. En general, los peruanos tienen que cuidar a
Machu Picchu.
