Executive Summary:

The “Himalayan Café “Traditional taste of the Himalayas will be a moderately priced café
cum restaurant offering traditional Himachali food and services. All Himachali cuisine will
be on the menu. Himalayan Café will be owned by the “Himalaya” village organization of
Gram Panchayat Gaini, Block-Basantpur of District Shimla. The members of the VO will
work together to achieve the common goal. They have very good experience in preparing
himachali traditional dishes.

“Himalayan Café” will be open at Gramin Bhandhar located at State Highway 13, Naldehra,
Block-Mashobra. The building of the Gramin Bhandhar is situated at a very prime location
that will be the centre of attraction for tourists. The Gramin Bhandhar have 10 shops and a
big hall, 5 shops have been used by SHGs of Mashobra Block for selling their hand made
products. The space of 5 shops and main hall is still unused. This can be used for Café. As
the site was not in use so it requires some additional renovation to give café look and to
update the lavatories.

The decor will feature in traditional himachali style, special setting arrangements for
Himachali Dhaam.

Sales projection assumes 500-800 customers per week resulting in weekly sales of just over ₹
15000 to ₹ 24000. The café will be started with minimum startup cost which will be meeting
from Savings, CIF amount and reminder will be secured by bank loan.
OBJECTIVES
Generally, the main object of a business is to get more and more profit. All the
business activities are running with the main object of profit but “profit is not only the object
of any business.” There are many objects such as to contribution in the development of the
country, Social responsibility etc.

Himalayan Café’s main objectives are as under:


 To improve livelihood status of rural women
 To provide quality meal at reasonable price with exemplary service.
 To earn Sufficient Profit.
 To provide social facilities.
 To promote traditional cuisine of Himachal Pradesh
 Contribution in the development of the country.

Mission Statement
The mission of the “Himalayan Café” is to provide a unique and traditional dining
experience-similar to dining at home. We will strive to achieve this goal by:

 Providing traditional Himachali cuisines menu items incorporating quality ingredients


at reasonable price.
 We will be mindful of the well being of our customers and the SHG members
working in the café-treating each and everyone with dignity and respect-just like we
would at our own home!

SWOT ANALYSIS
SWOT analysis is universally accepted as an effective method of identifying your strengths
and weaknesses, and examining the opportunities and threats you face. SWOT analysis
provides the basic framework for the project. The success of the project depends upon the
feasibility study, financial analysis, social impact, historical perspective, spatial perspective,
political set-up which can be gathered and assess in an orderly manner with a detailed SWOT
analysis. It stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, opportunities and threats. In our given project
named Women’s café the SWOT has been explained below:

Strengths:

1. Availability of major infrastructure.


2. Interests and skills of the concerned group.
3. Focus on traditional Indian principle, “ Atithi Devo Bhav”.
4. Necessity and willingness to earn profit to the concerned group.
5. Prime location and beautiful place for the café.
