Individual Work Log

This log is to document your progress throughout the project. Each day you have ITS you
should fill in the details of the tasks accomplished in the log below – either for the last five
minutes of class or at home. A completed log must be submitted as part of the project.

Approximate
Date Work Undertaken (Including Meetings and Outcomes)
Time Spent
13/04/10 We began planning our weapons and characters, with around 15 weapons 1hr 30 mins
planned and a story line + specifications thought out we are ready to start
designing the weapons of the game first.
14/04/10 I have designed a few weapons using the line tool, very basically because i 1hr 30 mins
have planned on using a tablet to make them look nice and give them a more
cartoon/flash based look. So far I have a spear and fight club soap designed,
although the designs are very basic due to further altercations being made.
16/04/10 I now have a tablet and traced both my previous weapons created last 1hr 30 mins
lesson. I also talked to Lachlan about his designs and how he should do the
main designs and I should draw over them with the tablet because he seems
to be better at detailing and designing the weapons whereas i seem to be
better at drawing them.
20/04/10 I traced a few more of Lachlan’s weapons, while also designing and creating 1hr 30 mins
a chainsaw and samurai sword myself. The chainsaw was difficialut to make
and even though it is not correctly positioned for a top down game we
decided that it would work best for the enjoyment of the user of the game if
they could see the chainsaw this way (side on)
21/04/10 I traced a few more of Lachlan’s weapons with the tablet, while designing a 1hr 30 mins
few more of my own. There were a few problems encountered with the
weapons which were mainly due to hard to trace lines and such. But were
resolved with some thinner lines used.
24/04/10 I traced one of Lachlan’s weapons, and touched up my old ones with some 1hr 30 mins
shading and made sure they looked ok at their original sizes for the game.

27/04/10 Lachlan designed a character this lesson and I traced it with the tablet, it 1hr 30 mins
looks very well done and now needs to be animated for a walking cycle for
game play. Only had trouble with tracing the hair of the character but I’m
going to fix that next lesson.
28/04/10 I fixed up our character so it now has a centre point, and gave it a walk cycle 1hr 30 mins
for every direction he can go. I had many problems with getting it lined up on
every frame, so i had to use the onion skin feature and that resolved the
problem. I also partly designed and drew an enemy with Lachlan and got it
doing a similar walk cycle to the main character.
