Bollards are used for mooring and towing purposes. Their strength check forms an important
exercise in tow gear selection and design
This spreadsheet can be used to perform a strength check of a bollard under a given line pull
Though the spreadsheet shows a double bollard, it can be used as effectively for a single bollard
as well
The input cells are in blue and in the 'Inputs' spreadsheet.
Once all inputs are given, the strength check is performed automatically by the spreadsheet
Assumptions:
1. The weld everywhere is assumed as fillet weld
2. The weld between bollard pipe and base frame is considered as fillet weld on two sides
