I am interested in applying for a teaching position in the Ysleta Independent School District. I
am committed to working in an inclusive classroom with diverse learners such as children with
sensory deficiencies, with functional diversity, also with students who have difficulties of
behavior, emotional or learning or gifted. I understand that we will have students who have
different ways of learning new concepts and different ways of apprehending the world. So,
among the main functions of teaching diverse student I am committed to working with students
individualize plan, by adapting the content and the way we teach them, and adapting to specific
special educational needs and work based on different approaches, depending on each student
goals. My goals will be to meet the needs of all students by collecting, analyzing, and using the
information to support and evaluate the students ' level of learning. I am determined to create a
learning environment where every child can be successful, by getting to know their strengths and
increasing their abilities or helping them in their weaknesses. From my observations in working
with children within the autism spectrum disorder, I will always create a structured environment
with adequate planning, encourage positive attitudes from everyone around, so that the student’s
integration is the most beneficial. One important thing for me is to have excellent
communication with the parents of the students; for a child with a disability, we will work
together to carry out the student's educational plan. I find it essential to have excellent
communication with the parents and let them know that their child is being valued. Working
together means that we will share information regularly about how the student is doing at school.
I understand that that learning is a continuous process and that this profession requires total
dedication. I will continuously learn new skills and innovative ways to make my teaching more
person when it comes to learning new material; this is important because it will help me
encourage students to learn new things, and at the same time we can discover new things
together. As a culturally responsive teacher, I will always find ways to modify and accommodate
instruction to meet the learner's needs and provide a positive environment for the student to
experience success. As a culturally responsive teacher, I will also be understanding and sensible
to the student's background by trying my best to integrate their backgrounds in the curriculum
and by offering materials that are culturally relevant to the topics we are learning. Again my goal
Sincerely,
Gabriela Fernandez
