Part 1: Hospital waiting room. Kelly sits near Ellen. Susan answers her phone.

Two women
arrive: one petite with dark hair, the other tall with reddish blonde hair. The dark haired
woman sees Ellen. A look of sadness and disbelief crosses her face.
She presses her forehead to Ellen's. They all meet with Dr. Beckham.
Mother Judy and then her partner.
Ellen glances around the room.
Amidst all the arguing, Ellen seems to retreat into her own thoughts. After the meeting, Judy
takes her aside. Judy and her partner walk out. Looking deflated, Ellen sits down next to Kelly.
Ellen nods. Kelly hugs her.
Ellen sits alone, looking lost in thought.

Part 2. Tent. The large dome tent has a full size bed, a carpet, a chest of drawers, and is lit with
candle-filled lanterns. Judy sits down on the bed. She gets up, then returns with a baby bottle,
sitting back down. Judy puts the bottle down, looking emotional. Judy gets up to leave.
Returning inside and sitting on the bed, Judy picks up the bottle. They rearrange themselves so
Eli is sitting on her leg. Eli nestles her head into Judy’s shoulder and allows her to put the bottle
on her mouth. Eli cries as Judy rocks her.

Part 3: As seen from the outside of the tent, Judy rocks and feeds her, the image getting smaller
and smaller. Later, Eli emerges from the tent alone, glancing across the dark yard toward the
main house. She sees the lights go out. Standing in the pitch black yard, she glances up to a full
moon. She starts walking. Seen silhouetted in the distance, she hikes up a steep hill.

Now, she is asleep on a craggy rock, the moon still full in the night sky. She stirs and wakens,
glancing up at the sky, staring at the full moon. The moon morphs into the sun.

Luke stands over her. Eli lies on the dirt, wearing different clothes, looking healthier. Her hair
styled and worn loose and she wears make up. She sits up on the desert rocks, looking across to
a figure in white, leaning against the tree. Wearing a knee-length white nightgown, she walks
toward it. Eli, in the same nightgown, leans against the tree. Another version of herself sits up
on a tree branch. Now Luke sits on the tree branch and takes Eli’s hand. She kisses him. She
smiles at him, looking happy. The Eli that leans against the tree looks up, watching them.

She looks down from the tree branch. In the dirt lies a naked and ??? Eli, asleep in a fetal
position. Wind blows over her skeletal frame. Luke disappears, but she holds a piece of coal in
her palm. She places it in her mouth and swallows.
