Modbus Master

1) Open Modbis Master


2) Click on Master in menubar then click on Add a Slave. Or use shortcut Ctr + N
3) Following window will apeear

4) Fields :-
Device’s Slave ID - Put slave ID of annunciator connected on bus. Slave ID can be from 1 to 255. By default the slave ID of annunciator is 255.
Device Name - Put any name(less than 20 characters). Numbers are not allowed in this field.
No of Facia Windows - Put the proper number of windows are in connected annunciator.
No of NONC Selections - Put the proper number of NONC selections available in connected annunciator.
Select No of Sequences - Put the number of sequences available in connected annunciator.
Name of the Sequence - Put name of each sequence. If annunciator has 4 sequences M, N, S, F then put M in 1, N in 2, S in 3 & F in 4.
No of Rows - Put the number of rows.
No of Colums - Put the number of columns.
5) After completion of all fields mentioned above, press OK. Following window will appear.
If “Conflict found in hardware database” error appear, press yes.

6) From the sequence field user can select desired sequence. After changing the sequence unit will restart. Slave
keyboard works similar to front push buttons/rear pus buttons on annunciattor. Slave keyboard works only for the
annunciator which is connected in this software. Rest all annunciators which are on same bus will not receive same
keys command. Brocast Keyboard is used to broadcast keys commands to multiple annunciators connected on same
bus.
7) User can reconfigure or delete connected annunciator. Go to Master menu and press Config a Slave or Delete a slave.
8) User can change NONC, TNT, Baudrate & Slave ID. Click on Slave menu. See image on right.
Sequence & Keyboard functions are also accessible from Home screen.
NOTE - To configue slave(annunciator) from this menu, the annunciator has to be connected successfully with
this software without any error, then only user can change the settings.
9) User can change NONC settings. Click on Change NONC... Following screen will appear.

Here 16 windows annunciator is configured, so 16 mark fields are there. All fields are marked, indicates all windows are set NO.
To make desired windows NC, unmark desired window number. After completion of NONC setting press Update. Similarly user can change TNT
settings. In TNT setting, field is marked means Non Trip and Trip if unmarked.
10) User can change baudrate of annunciator. Goto Slave menu then click on Baudrate. Four options will apper.
See image on right side. By default the annunciator baud rate is 9600bps. User can set any baud rate out of four.
User can change slave ID ie ID of annunciator. From the saame menu go to Change slave ID, it will ask for new
slave ID. Put new slave ID. The slave ID will updated automatically in annunciator as well as in software.
11) From the Setting menu user can connect or disconnect annuciator any time. If annunciator is not able
to communicate with connected PC then verify the COM port and change it. Make sure the baud rate is selected
properly. Select the baud rate of connected annunciator. From this menu user cannot change baudrate. Before
connecting the annunciator, user must know the baudrate of the annunciator then only PC can communicate with it.
Communication mode has to be selected properly. From the Modbus Mode in sem menu. Set the Mode
of communication either ASCII or RTU. Refer setting chart in annuciator manual or sticker at back of annunciator.
Similar mode has to be selected on the software. Similar settings can be configured from the Options.. In same menu.

12) From the Broadcast menu user can send the sequence, keyboard, baudrate commands to all annunciators connected in
same bus. Slave ID matching is not done in bradcast mode.

13) Once the annunciator is configured, no need to configure it again. User can close software. Same settings will be
recalled when you open the software again.
