Dear Ma’am Carmela Ledesma,

Firstly, I would like to start by greeting you maa’m a Happy New Year. I was able to rest
and have a fruitful Christmas break. I attended the last 4 Simbang gabi’s and it was also
fruitful. It was a memorable break for me because it was the first time we celebrated
Christmas with a Lechon baboy after 6 years.

Last semester was hard, but I know I did my best. My research is making tremendous
strides as I was able to finish my pressure sensor that measures the pressure at specific
points under a heap of granular material (sand). This semester, I plan on finishing my
thesis and writing a paper. My professor is pleased with my progress and has stated that
when I write the paper, I should also mention that not only did I conduct an experiment, I
also built a new instrument.

I am also confident of the mastery of subjects I was able to obtain from last semester.
While I only had a C+ in Electromagnetic waves for example, that is already the 4th
highest grade in a class of 24, most of whom had D’s or F as grades. I am also confident
of what I learned from last semester’s Quantum theory. I am confident to say that I was
able to attain reasonable mastery of those 2 Physics subjects.

I carefully planned my subjects so that all of my classes will not exceed 12:30 PM. I
have classes everyday now unlike last semester in which I only had it twice a week. I
realized that I didn’t like 2-day classes because I usually end up being bored with 5-day
breaks. I also realized that I am usually most active in the afternoon.

This semester, I plan to improve myself on a level unlike any other semester before. This
plan will be a two-fold improvement: my mental and physical faculties. I will be taking
Computational Physics which will involve calculations and coding in a high-level
programming language. I intend to spend an inordinate amount of time in this subject
since I plan on increasing my coding skills, skills that are valuable in the jobs market. I
also intend to spend inordinate amounts of time studying Thermodynamics. It is my
favorite branch of Physics after all. Of course, I will still study all my core subjects such
as History, Philosophy and Theology.

I plan on working out this semester. I have already started. I will go to the gym at least 3
times a week. I am also running everyday. Everyday, I sprint around the campus 2x at
around 11 in the night. This is so that I would have done everything I needed to do and so
that I may be able to sleep well. I promise that my grades will be much higher than this
sem’s and I will do even better than before.

Sincerely,

Kent Emmanuel Soria
