Apple is seeking a bright and highly curious Software Engineer to be a key member of the iCloud
Analytics team. In this role, you will write code to help users gain insight into data generated by
CloudKit/iCloud services. You have not only experience in building high-performance, scalable, and
extensible systems, but also an aptitude for applied research — preferably with expertise in pattern
mining, anomaly detection, predictive modeling, classification, and optimization.

This is a prominent, influential position in which you will collaborate with multi-functional engineering
teams to implement end-to-end analytical solutions that will have direct and measurable impact on the
next generation of Apple web services.

About Apple Teams Apple Retail Students Profile Sign In


Key Qualifications * 3+ plus years of software engineering experience

* Ability to thrive on a multi-functional team that ships high-profile, critical projects

* Experienced knowledge handling and processing very large data sets. Familiarity with database
modeling and data warehousing principles

* Experience crafting, implementing, and supporting applications performing big data analytics

* Strong persuasive skills to influence product and leadership teams regarding product strategy

* Extensive experience with statistical theory and applications

* Programming skills in Java, Scala, Python, Perl, and SQL

* Comfort with advanced analytical tools such as SAS, R, and SPSS

* Experience in the Hadoop Eco System (Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Cascading, Crunch, Scrunch, Spark)

* High attention to detail, collaboration skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines

* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Description Design and implement a software platform for ad-hoc querying and performing recurring analytical
workflows
Define data structures, build predictive modeling processes, and craft narratives from patterns
discovered by mining massive sets of data
Develop analytical tools and data models for segmentation, benchmarking, trending, and competitive
analysis
Design and evaluate experiments to find opportunities for increased usage, improved marketplace
performance, and greater customer happiness
Perform statistical analysis and data visualization
Build ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and presentations

Education & Bachelorʼs degree or higher with quantitative emphasis: computer science, applied mathematics,
Experience social science, statistics, or equivalent professional experience.
