Coursework Policies
1. All coursework submitted must include a copy of the full brief given by the Lecturer. All source material must be cited in
the text and a full bibliography of source material (including author, title, publisher and date) listed at the end of the
submission.
2. All work must be submitted in the mode instructed by the Lecturer.
3. Work submitted under the student’s name must only be the work of that student. All information sources must be
acknowledged. Plagiarism is a serious offence and will render offenders liable to disciplinary action as set out in the rules
and regulation of the institution.
4. Students MUST keep a copy of all submitted work for reference purposes prior to the original being handed in and
returned. This will provide proof that the work was completed, in the event that the work goes astray.
5. Whenever a candidate submits work after approved deadline without an authorised extension, a “F” grade will be
awarded. Lecturer may comment on the quality of the work for learning purposes.

ASSIGNMENT BRIEF / DESCRIPTION


LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. To test students’ capabilities of understanding the contents of Business Plan and how it
can be done in reality.
2. To improve students researching skill.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students will be able to:
1. Prepare a business plan in future for any business
2. Project the financial requirements of the business
3. Construct market strategy for future for their products
4. Organize operations for their day to day business opportunities

INSTRUCTIONS

Students should fulfill all necessary criteria to achieve maximum marks:


1. Students should prepare a corporate business plan in a group and they should form
team, not more than 3 – 4 members.

2. Each member of the team should contribute their effort towards preparing a business
plan. (Name of the title and the name of the member who prepared the title should
given by the students separately in the appendix).

3. Before preparing the business plan student should conduct a brainstorm session and
discuss about the contents and responsibility sharing of the each team member.

4. At the end of brainstorm session a draft copy of the session must be handover to
concern Lecturer.

5. The team should finish the Business Plan within the date of submission mentioned
above.

6. Do NOT let others follow your research, as each group should be different

7. Do NOT e-mail your work to anyone or to the module leader

8. If someone cheats by using your work, you will be penalized

9. Prepare a good cover page and bind the document neatly

10. Your team and you will be assessed both in group and individually

11. The report will carries total of 100 marks, this marks will be given to group

12. The Presentation will carries total of 20 marks, this marks will be given after observing
your performance during presentation

13. This assessment carries total of 120 marks which includes report preparation,
presentation and individual performance

PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Formal dressing and look professional
- Make sure that all your team members are well attired and look professional.
Failing which marks may be deducted. As it is the requirement of a manager or
presenter to look formal when presenting to their customer or employees.
2. The level of confidence
Some of the areas that will be considered to see the level of the confidence are as
follows:
a. Voice (loud or soft)
b. Speed of delivery (not too fast and not too slow)
c. Eye contact (looking at the audience when presenting)
d. Refer to paper or aid (often, less or never refer)
e. Delivery of the findings (clear or not)
3. Presentation content
Make sure when you are presenting you have covered the followings:
a. Introduction
b. Purpose of the presentation
c. Findings (what did your team discovered?)
d. Recommendation (how your findings will benefit managers or organization and
how can this idea be implemented?)
e. Conclusions
4. The use of presentation tools
Use as many tools as possible to present you ideas, e.g. Powerpoint slide, white board,
flip chart, prototype, or anything deem suitable.
5. For presentation, the following are required

a. Student who do not present but submits the Research Report will get 5 marks from
the total assessment grade.
b. Students who present but do not submit the Research Report on the stated deadline
will have 5 marks deducted.
c. You must submit the work with all the names of the group members (names must be
in full) along with their ID numbers.
d. PLEASE keep your presentation short (20 minutes per group).
e. This activity is a group work and it contributes 30% from the overall assessment.
RESEARCH REPORT REQUIREMENTS
1. The cover page of the Research Report should look creative, professional and
highlights on the topic or title your team have selected.
2. Content
- Show how your work was done
- Research methodology
- Highlight some of your findings
- Your work should be simple, colorful but informative
3. Recommendations
- Develop your recommendation base on your findings.
- Suggestion given should be rational and must be of your own idea.
4. Bibliography
- Your work should be referenced
- Please ensure that if you have taken ideas from anywhere make sure you reference
them using Harvard Referencing Style.
5. Students are required to produce a documentation of at least 15 pages and maximum 25
pages.
6. For your documentation/report you should use:
1. Word processor on A4 size
2. Times New Roman, 12, 1.5 line spacing
3. 1.5 spacing
