Abstract

This article has a purpose. To study infrastructure

The situation of agriculture and agricultural production
factors and studying the concept of agricultural
development according to the modern agricultural
approach and management to obtain their maximum
benefits with appropriate technology. This would
enhance the value added standard and quantity of
agricultural production including cost reduction and
safety practices for farmers and consumers; for example,
applying smart farm in organic products. and also helps
4

the farmer in dealing with future problems such as

shortage of workers in the agricultural sector and
participation among the ASEAN countries. Due to tough
competition in manufacturing and marketing, reliance
on science and traditional farming alone is not enough
therefore this study can be build a farm knowledge
expert system that enables farmers with little experience
to start a farm and reduce the problem of agricultural
production in Chiang Mai.

INTRODUCTION

There is a saying in Thailand that agriculture is the

backbone of the country. More specifically, the
phrase refers to the farmers who work tirelessly to
5

ensure that their fellow countrymen and, increasingly,

citizens beyond their own national borders are well-fed.
Thai farmers experiencing many problems,
especially income is not high. Low income farmers due
to lack of knowledge Lack of insights on modern
production planning and technology Including the
production of quality agricultural products. Current
farming should think about resource management.
proper use of inputs The use of process technology to
control production, weather tracking for provide efficient
and precise production management in integrated
agricultural production management. It is the concept of
modern agriculture with high technology and marketing
to effectively sell agricultural products for raise the level
of agricultural occupation and the sustainable use of
resources for future farmers.
This paper examines find data systeme of smart
farm on internet and interview with local people to
explain about agriculture by smart farm. and analysis
Climate change has affected the cultivation in all
countries with extreme drought, flooding, higher
temperature, and changes in the season thus leaving
behind the uncontrolled production and product of
smart farm.Consequently, the smart farm is needed for
application in certain farm areas. The aims of smart farm
6

are to control and to enhance food production and

productivity, and to increase farmers' profits. The
advantages in applying smart farm will improve the
quality of production, supporting the farm workers, and
better utilization of resources. This study aims to explore
the research and identify research on smart farm and
analysis data for develop product to match weather in
Chiang Mai.

Research Objective
1. To study the progress of current farmers.
2. To share knowledge and elements with current
farmers.
3. To increase efficiency for farmers.
4. To increase efficiency and quantity to product.

Research questions

1. Have you ever worked about farm or garden?

2. Do you know about " smart farm"?
3.Smart farm represents the application of modern
Information and Communication Technologies(ICT) into
agriculture. If the farmer knows more information about
7

"smart farm" Do you think the farmer want to change or

not? Why?
4.Do you think "smart farm" can help farmer or not?
Why?
5. In the future you want try to do a farm by "smart
farm" or not? Why?

In this research interviewee ever do the farm and

they don’t know about “smart farm”. We are explain a
bit about smart farm for the interviewee and they thinks
the same the farmer need to change to do the farm
from the old system to develop agriculture. When they
learn and understand about smart farm do.They thinks
smart farm can help farmer because smart farm help
reduce cost and time and can forecasts goods.
therefore in the future they wants to try to do a farm by
smart farm because It easy to learn and use when they
understand.
Hypothesis and conceptual framework
The current farmers do not have the knowledge of
modern agriculture as well as the use of technology. It is
one of the farmers. The production is not quality and
income less and to the extent that today's people want
to do such as doctors, athletes, games, Merchants,
businessmen and idols, and is a stigma that indicates
8

that very few want to do farm. The current economic

situation makes people don’t want to do farm acres.
In this chart show the careers in Thailand, number of
farmers is highest. But I have to make less money. Very
much from Farmers lack knowledge and may even be
unfairly charged.

Literature Review

Ryu et al. (2015, November) write that smart

farms embedded in the IoT system can be called
interconnected farms, which can accommodate a variety
of equipment from different agricultural equipment
manufacturers. In addition, connected farms can provide
more intelligent farming services, based on the expertise
of shared experts. For example, people with little
experience in cultivation can grow crops or grow crops
for profit. Prevention of infection may also be useful in
developing farms that are connected by detection of
influenza virus in specific pig farms and proactively
separate that one from others. The advantages of our
connected farm-based smart farming systems.
Connected farms help end users. It can also monitor and
control physical devices remotely via a mobile
application. It also includes knowledge and experience in
the field of farming and the creation of an expert system
of agricultural knowledge that gives farmers little
experience in starting a farm.

Kanjilal et al. (2014). new designs for animal shells

are being introduced to improve the livelihood of
livestock and reduce labor costs. Includes light,
11

temperature, humidity and automatic sprinkler system.

The humidity and moisture control mechanism ensures
that all animals are comfortable in the storage cabinet
by adjusting the settings according to the needs. The
system is secured by a password-protected password
system, which ensures the safety of the enclosures.
Automatic lock and release doors can be used to
facilitate inbound and outbound handling. Smoke
detectors are included to prevent fire hazards, which, if
not detected in time, can result in loss of livestock and
valuable resources. Feed control systems for animal
feeding and human labor reduction in the process. This
system uses energy efficiently because it saves
resources. Farmers can access the system easily and
control the phone remotely. This article demonstrates
that by integrating information technology into the farm
environment, the system and the electronics can be fully
integrated. This will result in comfort, energy savings and
benefits for quality and safety.

Gangwar et al.(2017). found that farmers and rural

people play an important role in gross domestic product
(GDP) and gross domestic product (GEP). They should
take advantage of the opportunities that LoT offers to
create and maintain real economic value. For their farm
12

products, these technological interventions reduce

human effort and help farmers to manage their farm
resources efficiently. Sustainable development of
agriculture and rural environment. These sensor
technologies are particularly useful in assessing and
managing the ecological, biological, physical and social
impacts of agricultural practices. This study can be
further used to develop Agro-loT technology for Indian
agriculture under the Digital India Mission.

Bhange et al. (2015).write that we propose a

web-based approach for Bacterial Blight ("Telya") for the
pomegranate. The input image will be pre-processed
and then the features will be separated into three colors:
morphology and CCV, followed by training and
classification. The proposed system provides two ways
for users to detect the presence of rubella infection with
intent search and no intentional search. The results show
different levels of disease detection based on image
quality and disease stage. The accuracy of the system is
82%. Thus, this system is one step in encouraging
farmers to do smart farming. This allows them to make
more effective decisions by enabling them to properly
handle the ruby. In the future, the system can be
improved with new features that include system training
13

to detect other fruit diseases, increasing the size of the

dataset to improve overall system performance for more
accurate disease detection.

Kothiya et al.(2018). write that Farmers still use

old techniques. Smart farming techniques enable
farmers to utilize the latest technology and increase crop
yields by eliminating various risk factors associated with
farming. The farming system currently in use helps
farmers to a certain extent by reducing labor costs.
These systems can not be considered and predicted the
appropriate weather conditions for cultivation. All
sensors send data to the Node MCU.
1. DHT11 sensor measures temperature and
humidity and send the digital signal to the
Node MCU where it uses this data to do
various tasks. The cost of this sensor is very low
and can be fixed at any location.
2. Soil moisture sensor, we can get the data
about the wetness and dryness of the soil.
3. Water level Sensor senses the water and sends
the analog signal according to the level of
water. It can measure the water which has a
small content of salt as ultrapure water is an
insulator.
14

4. PIR is an abbreviate for the passive infrared

sensor. It helps to detect any animal or human
when they come in the radar of this sensor.
5. Node MCU is one of the best development
board for IoT Project. It is very easy to use and
is cheaper in comparison to combining the
Arduino and the various wi-fi module or GSM
module.

Walter et al. (2017). they said intelligent farming

can make farmers more productive. Reducing inputs of
resources saves farmers money and labor, and more
reliable data will reduce the risk. But the high cost of
using technology in each farm and limited knowledge
and skills can be a major barrier to implementation,
especially in developing countries. The possibilities of
the digital age may lead to new forms of risk
diversification in the farm. Similar to the discussion and
the concept. The possibility of using information and
communication technologies will not lead to a widely
accepted and rapidly adopted agricultural system in the
diversity of farming systems. However, the "Internet of
Things" It can be used to deal with standard farming
situations. Farmers still need to act as scientists and
15

surveillance officers to keep up with unexpected

situations.

Rupanagudi et al. (2015, January). they research a new approach to

smart farming and to detect insect worms on tomato
plants has been described. Complete model applied to
the Cloud Computing Framework. Based on the results
obtained from the decision algorithm can be taken as to
how much the amount of pesticides should be sprayed.
To prevent unnecessary spraying of pesticides, including
the health of farmers, consumers and the environment.
Future versions of this application may include IP
addresses for robots, which can be controlled in the
same way through cloud computing or by other
peasants. You can use the "Internet of Things" method.
Governments of various countries can apply this design
and provide assistance to hundreds of farmers around
the world.

So-In et al. (2013). write that technological

advances have had a huge impact on human society. But
in education and entertainment. It also includes the
medical and agricultural sectors. Intelligent farming is
combined to increase efficiency and reduce operating
costs. So in this article, we are introducing a smarter new
16

system of poultry farming through EVAP Using a

wireless and wireless sensor network with a well-known
sensor sensor, Tmote Sky interacts with the WCF web
service. This system helps mobile users / administrators
to observe and specifically control environmental
behaviors. Including additional notification features
when the environment changes suddenly with the
criteria set. This article describes important system
design tools and components. For performance
evaluation, we examined the transmission power
characteristics of sensor nodes with CTP and
Dissemination multi-hop routing protocols.

Xin et al.(2016). write that and they focuses on

the latest ICT trends and offers a hybrid cloud
architecture for smart farming. The architecture
emphasizes the use of decision-oriented data-centric
tools, farmers and decision-making tools, by integrating
services, compiling and collaborating. It is a customized
solution for farmers.
1) data integration of on-farm sensors and data
from public sources
2) farm management modules
3) knowledge-based software solutions from
different providers,
17

4) service integration, aggregation and

interoperation
5) a customized dashboard focused on usefulness
and usability.
This cloud-based solution allows the integration of
businesses services, things, and technology from any
channel and can be used anywhere. At this time, hybrid
cloud environments have shown promise to integrate
these different services and provide smart farming
solutions to both big and smallholder farmers.

Gaire et al. (2013, October). they are introduced

Kirby's 'Smart' farm as a prototype farm with sensors
installed and connected to the broadband network. We
show that by keeping farms meaningful and providing
static search capabilities. (Such as archives) and
dynamically linked data (such as live), we can meet the
needs of farmers and help them make better decisions.

Interview Results

A total of six face to face interviews were also performed

using convenience sampling. Both authors of this
18

research performed three interviews individually. The

two sets of interviews while on the same topic had
different questions The results of Panupong Fricome
and Nutchaya Ayumak’s interviews were that all three of
the interviewees Have you ever worked about farm or
garden, The interviewees responded that never worked a
farmer For various reasons. Do you know about " smart
farm" , The six interviewees have responded. There are
only two smart farmers and four are unknown, because
some are not born in working families. or not do the job
about Agriculture. Smart farm represents the application
of modern Information and Communication
Technologies(ICT) into agriculture. If the farmer knows
more information about "smart farm" Do you think the
farmer want to change or not? Why? Halftime Answered
that question. Should change And not change, They
explain why they want to change because they can help
farmers increase their income and reduce labor costs
and why do not you want to change because it may be
used to the original system. So next question Do you
think "smart farm" can help farmer or not? Why? Six
people have agreed that smart farm can help farmers.
However, it may increase the initial cost or initial
investment. In the future you want try to do a farm by
"smart farm" or not? Why? The answer is that I want to
19

do and do not want to do, explain why I do not want to

do. do not like agriculture at first and do not like
working that use more power

Discussion
In this research, Smart farm machinery, equipped
with real-time kinematic (RTK) global navigation satellite
systems (GNSS) and other sensors, will aid in the
farmer’s response to emerging needs and opportunities
– planting seeds with millimeter precision in the right
place at the right time, and applying nutrients and
pesticides only where and when needed. Specialized
software aids in tracking tasks such as seeding, watering,
and nutrient applications, and associate relationships
between specific activities and their impact on crop
development and yield.Smart farm and analytics are
used to optimize key components of food systems,
increasing productivity and profitability, while reducing
environmental impacts. Virtually all stages of production,
from refining crop genetics to managing transportation
20

logistics, have the potential to be digitally integrated in

the near future. This digital agricultural revolution will
provide new means and methods for farmers to further
optimize management of resources, improve crop
quality and quantity, and remain productive in a
changing climate.

Conclution

The Smart Farm research is part of helping to

increase the knowledge base for farmers, not just the
initial ones, but also the new knowledge gained from
overseas and domestic research. The role of farmers in
the present, Is good for farmers. Help with the time,
income and stupidity of farmers. On the other hand, if
you look at the current chapters that people want to do
21

and interviews I have a lot of each career but a few

farmers. This is an indication that we should pay more
attention to the farmers as the farmers are the backbone
of the Thailand.

Smart farms embedded in the IoT system can be

called interconnected farms, which can accommodate a
variety of equipment from different agricultural
equipment manufacturers.
Internet of Things (IoT) technology has brought
revolution to each and every field of common man’s life
by making everything smart and intelligent. IoT refers to
a network of things which make a self-configuring
network. The development of Intelligent Smart Farming
IoT based devices is day by day turning the face of
agriculture production by not only enhancing it but also
making it cost-effective and reducing wastage. The aim /
objective of this paper is to propose a Novel Smart IoT
based Agriculture Stick assisting farmers in getting Live
Data (Temperature, Soil Moisture) for efficient
environment monitoring which will enable them to do
smart farming and increase their overall yield and quality
of products.
