RATIONALE:

In line to school’s mission in producing holistic and competent learners, Saint Vincent de Paul Diocesan
College (SVPDC) Basic Education Department conducts In-Service Training aimed to teach and equip teachers
with skills and the necessary knowledge or attitude to enable them to carry out their responsibilities to the required
standard in the present job and to undertake greater and more demanding roles for effective job performance. This
school-based training caters the needs of teachers to improve the Knowledge, Skill, and Attitude (KSA).
One factor of repeating annual induction program for newly hired teachers is the migration of licensed
teachers to public schools. Old teachers also undergo further seminars /workshops for improvement of classroom
instruction developing them to become proficient teachers.
Future educators therefore must be skillful in the utilization of varied proven methods of effective
classroom management strategies and doable strategies suited to the 21st century learners to achieve effective
character formation inside the classroom.
It is with these thoughts that this seminar is conceptualized.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Orient new teachers on the school standards and policies.

2. Equip teachers with skills and necessary knowledge or attitudes for an effective job performance.
3. Revisit standards of Catholic Schools.
4. Enhance the competencies of old teachers.
5. Promote the continuous improvement of the total professional staff of the school system.
6. Eliminate deficiencies in the background preparation of teachers and other professional workers in
education
