What others consider wrong should not be ones concern in the first place.

Why is it
considered wrong is not a right
question hence, the right question must be why it feels wrong.

It feels wrong because the two people involved in the activity are not there for
the same reason. One is for the sole
purpose of money, the other to fulfill his sexual fantasies, to release his
everyday frustration, or to experience love
through sexual means. In all cases one doesn't come out of it fulfilled, one can
never come out of it fulfilled.

Fulfillment happens with oneness in any activity, the musician feels content when
he becomes one with his music, the
painter is fulfilled for those moments of joy when he is lost in his painting, he
has become one with it, but when two
people are there for two separate reasons, none of them is coming out fulfilled.

This is how romantic sexual encounters are more fulfilling when both the partners
are into it for the same reasons,
when both are in love, when both have only each other on their mind. In those
moments the lovers are lost in each other,
hence the act is so eternally beautiful and pure. It is immensely fulfilling and
graceful. There is no hurry involved in
it, there is no dominance as both are equals. Both know they are there forever with
each other, both accept each other as
they are, both have no urgency to feel controlling or to be controlled. This sort
of love, this sort of sex is
realitistcially gracious and supreme to any other emotion the human being can
possibly feel.

Cheers

As others have said, its not a bad thing. However, the main reasons it's
considered a negative is due to media, stereotyping, ignorance, propaganda, and
cultural habits.

Its one of those things where most people don't fully understand it. We
wouldn't share due to fear of people acting
on their misconceptions. (Which they still do)
Moralist government laws criminalising it send the message to people it must be
bad without question.
Culturally over generations the idea to look down on minorities, prostitutes
being one, and treating them as less
than human has been accepted behaviour. This encourages a "mob mentality.
Although I like to think, slowly we are realising all humans are equally
human.
Not all but some more radical feminists see it as pandering to men therefore
it's bad as gender inequality issue
but without really seeking to understand the women who consenually chose the
job.
Sex workers haven't really stood up as much in the past to speak about this
work. They have in patches. But you
seeing more speak out more often now as we have little choice.

Also it's can be seen as bad because of what they may see in their own country.
It's natural to assume what is infront
of you is all there is.

Maybe people think having this view means they are doing the right thing too.
Having done the church life and been in
vulnerable positions, I can understand how some people make these assumptions.

Change and accepting ideas or knowledge different to what we grow up with, can be
hard for some as well. Just look at
Galileo when he held the view that the world wasn't the centre of the universe.

We, as humans, are naturally trusting creatures. So unless we look beneath what
we're told it's natural to believe its
bad because someone tells us it's bad.

Mostly, it's bad laws that allow the negative aspects of prostitution to exist
rather than the job itself.

For example:

Its bad because women are often isolated which makes it dangerous.

Often we do have to work alone but it's laws that won't let even 2 women work
together in safety. It punishes them with
arrest if they do, calling it a brothel.

Its bad because women are vulnerable.

Vulnerability happens when the women can't safely go to police again due to laws.
And no, criminalising clients doesn't
make it better but worse.

Its bad because it is gender inequality

See above. Police & anti discrimination laws help equal the field. In personal
experience the more confident I grew,
the more guys fell into line. Being able to work with others, we teach and have
safety.

Its bad because many people have no other choice (survival sex).

The job at least gives them a way to eat & have a roof over their head. Not
everyone should be doing this work. The
issue though is often due to employers who discriminate due to race, gender or
other factors. Fix people's judgemental
assumptions and less people will have to choice sex work when they don't want too
