Ortografia
• Quase todos os verbos, com exceção de to be e
da maioria dos modais , formam a 3ª pessoa do
singular com o acréscimo de s.

• Se o verbo termina em ss, sh, ch, x, z ou o,
acrescenta-se es.
kiss – kisses fix – fixes
wash – washes buzz - buzzes
teach – teaches go - goes
• Se o verbo termina em y precedido
de consoante, troca-se o y por ies.
try – tries study – studies
mas ...
say – says obey – obeys
enjoy - enjoys buy - buys
Usos
• Expressa ações habituais ou que se repetem
no presente. Geralmente usado com: always,
often, usually, frequently, sometimes, never,
seldom, every day, on Monday, etc.
I always walk to school.

• Pode expressar verdades universais e ações
futuras planejadas.
Dogs bark.
Water boils at 100° C
Your bus comes at 4:15.
