VISION-MISSION STATEMENT

VISION – MISSION

Vincentian Performing Arts Company (VPAC) is one of the Vincentian interest


organizations of the university to use the creative medium of performing arts particular in dance,
which adhere to the standards of excellence and function as catalysts for social transformation and
holistic development of young and adult artists that are talented, committed and passionate.

OBJECTIVES

 Encourage interest and understanding in the vision through the transformative power of the
creative process, choreographic works, workshops, and presentations for the audiences
inside and outside the University.

 Nurture future choreographers and qualified local, national or international performers in


the years to come from within the long-standing dancers into the organization.

 Offer scholarships to those economically underprivileged youth and with exemplary skills.

 Develop performances that are meaningful and appropriate to the life experience of the
communities, including advocacy such as promoting culture and arts, social issues,
environment problems and poverty through the performing arts.

 Fostering a community that encourages artistic growth and excellence, risk taking, self-
awareness, and personal discovery and fulfillment.

SEAL OF THE ORGANIZATION

VPAC Seal composed of different aspects:

1. COLORS- there are four colors used: Gold- stands for achievement, abundance, quality,
triumph, confident, passionate, and linked to masculine energy and the power of the sun.
Brown- stands for down to earth, take obligations seriously, stability, protection, security,
responsible, and supportive. Green- stands for growth, progressive, harmony, great balancer
of the head and emotions, natural peacemaker, generosity of spirit, observer and helpful.
White- stands for purity, creativity, equality and completion.

2. TEXTURES- there are two identified textures: There are times in every organization you will
encounter problems or struggles along the way in achieving your goals towards success,
happiness and triumph that made it rough but the challenges is how you will handle and solve
it that made your life smoothly.

3. FIGURES/SHAPES- as Vincentian artists we considered ourselves as an ambassador of the


university through performing arts that promotes the Vincentian Culture, Filipino Culture and
adopting the new trends but with finesse. The organization composed of men and women with
equal opportunity and guiding/assisting each other because we considered ourselves as one
family, never forget where you came from and touched the ground even reaching or achieving
success. The flame with a green color symbolized that the group still remain calm and humble
even visible/shining. The green wreath symbols of unity, joy and victory. Proud to be “Tatak
USI at Tatak Vincentiano”.

COMPANY BIOGRAPHY

The group formerly named as Isabelinos and Isabelinas Performing Arts Company (IPAC) in the
year of 2011. The name changed when the group decided and supported by the University to join
the ABS-CBN TV Network noontime program, which is “It’s SHOWTIME: Campus Clash Dance
Showdown”. Since the organization is part of the Vincentian Community, it came up and inspired
to call the group as a Vincentian Performing Arts Company with the approval of the university
administration last January 22, 2012. The members are purely bonafide students of Higher
Education Department and then extended to the Senior High School Department of Universidad
de Sta. Isabel in the year 2015.

Constitution and By- Laws

PREAMBLE

We, the members of Vincentian Performing Arts Company with the help of Almighty God,
in order to establish a student performing arts group that shall adhere to the standards of
excellence and function as catalysts for social transformation and holistic development of young
artists, do hereby promulgate and adopt this Constitution and By Laws.

Article I. NAME AND DOMICILE

Section 1. The name of this organization shall be called Vincentian Performing Arts Company
(VPAC) of the Universidad de Sta. Isabel.

Section 2. That the location and postal address of this organization is Elias Angeles St. Naga
City 4400, Province of Camarines Sur, Philippines.

Article II. PURPOSES AND GOALS

Section1. The purposes of the Vincentian Performing Arts Company are to promote,
incorporate, create, and offer opportunities to participate in the performing arts as an art form in
Universidad de Sta. Isabel community.
Section 2. The organization will work towards these goals to:

a. Express oneself through the performing arts.

b. Provide entertainment, enjoyment, form of recreation, healthy lifestyle through the medium of
dance in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere.

c. Foster community service through education and dance performances.

d. Develop a character and personality through the diverse aspects of performing arts.

e. Provide an avenue for people to develop, enhance and share their talents and skills in
performing arts, choreography, leadership and other aspects, thus, deviate the student’s
attention from vises and idleness.

f. Provide scholarships to deserving members when possible.

Article III. AUDITION


Section 1. Students must be in excellent physical condition. To audition for the group, each
student must secure latest medical certificate to certify that students are fit to join and undergo
trainings. Proof of this medical test, must be presented to the moderator/coordinator/group
president before the student can participate in tryouts.
Section 2. Audition shall be done during the start of the school year, not returning the required
forms to the moderator/coordinator before the first day of tryout practice, will not allow to
participate in the training process.
Section 3. All students, including present members, must attend all auditions and selected as
a member of the squad by a panel of judges for membership each year.

Section 4. All students trying out for the organization must meet the required academic
standard.
Section 5. Students who passed the tryout/screening will announce through call and text as
soon as tryouts are over and scores are already tabulated.
Section 6. Students must adhere to the dress code mandated by the moderator/coordinator for
the tryout eliminations or will not allowed to try out.
Section 7. At Auditions, each student will provide a medical certificate and sign a document
agreeing to adhere to the expectations outlined in the document.
Section 8. After the student passed the screening, they will classify as trainees for one year.

Article IV. MEMBERSHIP


Section 1. Membership in this organization is open to all bonafide students of Senior High
School and Higher Education Department of Universidad de Sta. Isabel, who possesses an interest
and skills in performing arts.
Section 2. Interested students must undergo and pass the audition or screening procedure as
prerequisite to become a member and submit all impose requirements set by the organization.
Section 3. All members shall have a grade of atleast 80 and above, with a general average
atleast 85, and NO Failing grades.
Section 4. Each member must recognize and abide the rules, policies and regulations
promulgated by the organization and the university.
Section 5. Attendance Policy
a. Members are required to attend all organization meetings, which will be held as needed,
determined by the current officers.
b. Members are expected to be present and participate in all organization functions. This
includes all performances, practices, meetings, fundraisers, workshops, camps, concerts,
community services and competitions.
c. Excessive unexcused absences will result in the removal of a piece. After accumulating
two unexcused absences, the choreographer will discuss the absences with the dancer.
After three unexcused absences, performers will be removed entirely from a piece at the
choreographer’s discretion. Choreographers may not be allowed to accumulate any
unexcused absences.
d. Tardiness to rehearsals by fifteen minutes three times will be counted towards one of the
performer’s unexcused absences, and will deal with on an individual basis and can result
in suspension from the next performance or organization.
e. All members must sit together and remain for the entire event. All performers must abide
by these times to ensure the group performances are punctual at the event.
f. If a member/performer cannot attend a performance due to an illness or emergency, the
moderator/coordinator must notify as soon as possible. Should the moderator/coordinator
be unreachable, the group president must notify.

g. All choreography missed by an absence at rehearsal must be made up prior to the next
scheduled rehearsal time by the performer.
h. If a performer is unable to participate due to a physical injury or extended illness, a written
note from the parent, guardian or physical explaining the injury must be provided to the
moderator/coordinator. The last practice before any performance is mandatory in order for
the performer to participate in the scheduled performance. There are no exceptions to this
policy.
i. Members not allowed to leave the event earlier with their parents unless permission granted
prior to the event. The school/organization/inviting parties must provide transportation to
any event; members must use the designated vehicle to and from that event, unless the
parent gives written permission in advance. In this case, a member will only allowed to
ride with his/her parents, not another student or friends. Leaving early will not tolerated.
Section 6. Each member must complete a certain skill, predetermined by the officers and the
moderator/coordinator, by the end of each semester in order to remain an active member. All
members will undergo pre and post evaluation (self, peer, group and moderator’s evaluation
procedure).
Section 7. Members shall exercise good sportsmanship and self-discipline at all times.
Excessive talking or other disruptive activity during practice and using the name of the group for
other purposes will result in disciplinary action administered by the moderator/coordinator.
Section 8. Members are responsible for their own transportation going to school and snacks
except during events, the inviting parties will provide snacks for the performers.
Section 9. Each member/performer is responsible for knowing every routine before a
performance. If a performer needs extra attention for a routine, they can ask for special assistance.
The last practice before a performance will be an informal tryout in which the performer’s
knowledge of the routine is evaluated by the moderator/coordinator. Should the
moderator/coordinator feels a performer does not know the routine; the member will removed from
the line for that performance. The performer is still expected to attend the performance in uniform
and sit with the group.
Section 10. Members/performers shall be removed from the line for a performance for any of
the following reasons:
a. failure to meet uniform inspection
b. late arrival on performance dates
c. excessive misbehavior at any practice session
d. not attending the last practice before any performance
e. the moderator/coordinator feels the member is not knowledgeable of that week’s routine
f. absent from school more than half a day on the day of the performance without valid reasons

Section 11. Members shall not engage in any vices like smoking, drink alcoholic beverages, or
use illegal drugs while a member of this organization. Any proven or witnessed report of this
information will result in dismissal from the organization.
Section 12. Members shall also not partake in any of the following inappropriate behaviors,
which include, but are not limited to, the following: • Public displays of affection. • Profanity. •
Poor sportsmanship. • Use of cell phones or texting during meetings, rehearsals and performances
• Disrespect of moderator/coordinator, administrators, teacher or fellow team members. • Skipping
or being tardy to class. • Community Service or Suspension. High standards of conduct are
essential and expected by all members at all times. Members may not conduct themselves in any
way or at any time that reflects badly on the university or the organization. Members must set an
example, within the community.
Section 13. Members must practice proper hygiene. They must look clean, neat and proper. No
wearing of colored nail polishes, hair dye colors, and if possible NO tattoos. Female members, all
long hair shall tie in ponytails or designated hairstyle with a clean look for performances. Make-
up and lipstick may be required depending on the performance. Male members must follow the
mandated hair cut by the university, no long nails and no wearing of earrings. Every member must
have their own under garments sandos and cycling shorts, black and white pants, tights and
leotards, dance shoes, black hairnet, hair pins, safety pins, accessory kit, make-up kit and notebook
with pen. Secure their organization ID.
Section 14. Members are not allowed to have an intimate relationship within the group. If both
members find out with evidence, both are sanctioned for dismissal from the organization. Members
are not deprived from having a relationship as long as not in the same group, parents are well
informed about it, and will not distract the members from academic and group performances.
Section 15. Most of the performances of the organization the university provides costumes for
each member. During events aside from the costumes, they must wear an appropriate attire.
Members must take care of the costumes, never owned the costume because it is the university
property. Costumes must return it on time with NO damages. The Moderator/Coordinator will
perform a costume inspection before each performance to insure dress uniformity. Non-adherence
to the dress for that performance will result in removal from the line.
Section 16. Members must be responsible in using social media. They must be aware the
PRO’S and CON’S in posting anything like photos, thoughts and comments.
Section 17. Members are responsible in maintaining the cleanliness of the dance studio,
costume area, office and venue being used.

As a member/performer for the USI- Vincentian Performing
Arts Company (VPAC), I recognize my responsibility to my organization, university, and
community. Being a member of the group is a commitment. I will assume the responsibilities of
the group. I know that failure to comply with these rules will result in dismissal from the group. I
also understand that I will be dropped from the group for skipping school, drug, alcohol, or tobacco
use. I understand that there is a possibility of injury with my participation on the group. I
understand that anything less than 100% in my performance and attitude will not be acceptable. I
have read and will abide by all rules set forth in this bylaws.

Article V. SCHEDULE OF REHEARSALS/MEETINGS

Section 1. Rehearsals will be held three times a week. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
7:00pm -9:00pm.

Section 2. Additional rehearsal schedule will be called if the need arises. Everyday practice
from Monday-Saturday and Holidays.

Section 3. Every member must secure parent’s permit approval. Failure to return the form with
signature of the parents the members will not allow to attend the scheduled rehearsals.

Section 4. Every 2nd Friday of the Month shall have a regular monthly meeting.

Article VI. SCHOLARSHIP

Section 1. The following descriptions are the criteria/indicator for selecting scholars of Vincentian
Performing Arts Company (VPAC). Note: Only an active member with one-year residency in the
group and/or with exemplarily skills in performing arts esp. in dancing can have the opportunity
to qualify the scholarship/grant:
A. SKILLS Performance (35%)- a qualified student/member must show an excellent
performance in leadership and performing arts (esp. in Dancing); show gracefulness, mastery,
flexibility, endurance and powerful movements, can create dance piece/s, can work independently
or with a team, can follow instructions easily, and can perform any genre. Note: Skills Performance
has higher percentage value because VPAC is a performing arts group. Need more skills to show.
B. ACADEMIC Performance (25%)- a qualified student/member must be officially enrolled;
must possess a good/excellent academic performance in all subjects required in his/her course; NO
grade below 80; NO Incomplete Grade (INC); and NO Failing Grade (FA) in any subjects per
semester.
C. CONDUCT (20%)- a qualified student/member must show proper grooming (hygiene,
wearing of costume and uniform, nail and hair); orderliness and take good care of the
personal/group/school property (like: costumes, props and other materials/equipment); courtesy
and respect at all times (recognizes members, personnel and those authority); respects and

accepts individual differences; NO intimate relationship within the group
ONLY brothers and sisters relationship; uses polite expressions; honest (tells
the truth and does not steal); loyalty to the group and university, show simplicity and cooperation,
have passion to perform, willingness to develop and learn more, deportment/refinement (modesty
in words, deeds, dressing code).
D. ATTENDANCE/PUNCTUALITY (20%) - a qualified student/member must show
involvement/participation in any occasion of the group (attends the regularly group meetings,
practices/rehearsals, performances assigned and community services.

Section 2. The scholarship is renewable every semester except summer. If a scholar failed to
maintain the standard points, for the first time offense the coordinator will warned a particular
scholar reminding of the consequence, for the second time offense he/she will be automatically
received a deduction points that will affect the tuition fee discount he/she is availing or removal
from the list of scholars.
Section 3. VPAC Moderator/Coordinator has the right to remove any time the discounts
enjoyed by a member who has not performed well as per recommendation to the ACAT Center
Director.

Article VII. OFFICERS/ LEADERSHIP


Section 1. The Officers of the VPAC are President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Audio Coordinator,
Facilities Coordinator, Publicity Coordinator, and Secretary. The term of office is one year beginning April
1 and continuing through March 31. Duties of the Officers are:

A. President. The President shall:

1. Be the Chief Executive Officer of the organization responsible for the operation of the group.

2. Exercise general supervision over all the meetings, practices, and activities of the organization.

3. Call and preside over meetings and take charge of setting both time and practices.

4. Represent the organization to the whole student body or to other organizations.

5. Sign communications, create committees and appoint the heads thereof.

6. Presents an annual report of the organization’s activities and accomplishments to the

members.

7. Perform other functions as may be called by circumstances as long as they are not contrary to

this constitution.

B. Vice- President. The Vice- President shall:

1. Assist the President in his/her administrative functions.

2. Take over the position of the President in case of the latter’s absences, resignation or
incapacity to serve, shall succeed the office until next regular election of officers. The President
may delegate to the Vice-President such official or other duties necessary for the conduct of
business.

3. Perform other functions assigned to him/her by the Administrative.

C. Secretary. The Secretary shall:

1. Record proceedings of the organization’s meetings.

2. Be responsible in the safekeeping of all official communications and documentation reports in


every event.

3. Maintain a list of the current membership and take charge of checking of attendance of the
members and pays attention to the tardiness.

4. Perform other functions assigned to him/her by the President.

D. Treasurer. The Treasurer shall:

1. Take charge of all financial matters and properties of the organization.

2. Advises the Board about the finances of the organization and assists in formulating the
budgets for the regular and special activities. The Treasurer also prepares a yearly financial
statement of operations.

3. Deposit and request funds in USI- Accounting Office with the consent of the President and
Moderator/ Coordinator.

4. Prepares a semester/yearly financial statement of operations and financial report to the


organization after every activity.

5. Bring to the attention of the organization any expenditure, which in his/her opinion/findings
is irregular and anomalous.

6. Perform other functions assigned to him/her by the President.

E. Business Manager/s. The Business Manager/s shall:

1. Take charge of the business traction of the organization.

2. Perform other functions assigned to him/her by the President.

F. Public Information Officer (P.I.O). The P.I.O shall:

1. Take charge of all the publications concerning the VPAC
meetings, business, social and performances

2. Notify members of the date, time, and place of the affairs, meetings, rehearsals and other
concern of the organization.

3. Perform other functions assigned to him/her by the President.

G. Rehearsal Master. The Rehearsal Master shall:

1. Lead the warm-up and cool down exercises.

2. Take charge of all the rehearsals of the group.

4. Perform other functions assigned to him/her by the President.

H. Custodian. The Custodian shall:

1. Responsible in safekeeping ,organizing and monitoring all the props and costumes of the
group.

2. Take charge of distribution and collection of all the props and costumes used by the
performers in every event.

3. Perform other functions assigned to him/her by the President.

Section 2. In case of vacancy from the Vice-President to Custodian, it shall be filled up through an
appointment of the President through recommendation of the officers and members with the approval
of the moderator/coordinator.

Section 3. Officers and Members shall have a re-organizational meeting before the school year
ends to elect the new set of officers for the next school year.

Section 4. Election of the officers shall be done by atleast one-half of the membership of the
organization.

Article VII. MODERATOR/COORDINATOR

Section 1. Moderator/Coordinator of student organizations must be members of the University


faculty or Administrative & Professional staff and appointed/assigned by the Top Level
Administration.

Section2. Responsible in monitoring and guiding the officers and members.

Section 3. Coordinates any events within the University or external affairs and budget request.

Article VIII. CHOREOGRAPHER

Section 1. Responsible to create master pieces and conceptualizes different genres of dance.

Article IX. ACTIVITIES AND OTHER CONCERNS OF THE ORGANIZATION

Section 1. The VPAC shall produce atleast one theater production annually.

Section 2. Must undergo workshop/s that would broaden the horizon as performer enthusiast.

VII. OBJECTIVES:
This activity aims to:
1. To learn different dance movements of hip-hop.
2. To enjoy dancing.
VIII. RATIONALE:
As the school year 2019-2020 started, many students nowadays, we observed that they
like the latest trends like Dance Challenges, Dance Showdown, and other Dance music
videos on the internet. The Vincentian Performing Arts Company made a project called
“HIPHOP DANCE WORKSHOP” aims not just to be famous, but to teach them and to
train them to become a better dancer.

In this project, we will teach them the different trending hip-hop dances like cramping,
acrobatic moves, stunts, k-pop, and many more. By this activity, the beneficiaries will
have new knowledge and skills in dancing.

VII. OBJECTIVES:
This activity aims to:
1. Educates women the art of make-up.
2. Learn how to apply make-up easily to suit any style and events.
3. Apply how to look and feel most beautiful – not only on the outside but on
the inside too
4. Save money instead of paying a make-up artist to do one’s makeup.
VIII. RATIONALE:
As the school year 2019-2020 started, many students are now interested in makeup. We
observed that the students are now always wearing makeup but some of them do not
know the proper way of applying it. The Vincentian Performing Arts Company made a
project called “MAKEUP WORKSHOP” aims not just to be famous but to teach them
the proper way of applying a stage makeup, normal and proper makeup.
