Writing, Reading, and Critical thinking

Reading, writing, and critical thinking is something that I think are excellent skill sets to

have because almost everything we do requires reading, writing, and critical thinking. I have Learn

and feel more confident about creating a thesis. I really think I have improved in organizing and

supporting my thesis in each body paragraph. Knowing these skills, I hope also to improve in other

areas like adding better specifics to my essay. I know these skills will help me in the long run when

pursuing my career as a physical therapist assistance.

Writing is a very important skill to have because it allows anyone to communicate without

talking. It helps being a good writer because it can lead to many opportunities for seeking a job. It

helps me put down ideas on paper and allows me to be able to think a lot more on an idea because

I really forget easily when brainstorming on a topic. I had a lot of help from my professor on

feedbacks on my weaknesses. I know I need to work on them so I can be able to be a great writer

for my career and during my school days.

Reading is also a skill I think is the most importance in our everyday life. Being able to

read is beneficial because it allows you to understand another person’s information about any

specific topic. Learning to read critical was a skill set that I was taught in high school and I believe

I really do get points out when reading. For example, I reread a lot and have little side notes in my

head throughout my readings. The only thing I lack is some vocabulary. I really don’t know that

much words and usually have trouble pronouncing words that I don’t know the meaning to.

Reading is a standard for me to meet because it is required a lot in my field of physical therapy

assistance.

Critical thinking is something I picked up this semester in class. I have started to use this

skill set more because I realized it helps me gain more ideas when we read a story or talk about a

specific topic in class. That’s why I read more carefully and apply little mental notes and reread

everything I read. It has helped me understand articles and novels throughout this semester better

in a way that I can now interact with a lot of our group activities we had during class. Critical

thinking is a useful skill set for my career because it allows use to work better with our clients and

how to properly be prepared to work with them. Every person has different problems and being

able to think critically when communicating with them will be helpful so I can evaluate every

individual making sure I can approach them with a different solution.

Everything that I’ve learned this semester I will continue to improve and focus on these

skill sets and apply them throughout my career and college days. I really think I need the help in

improving my English because its always been my favorite subject, but I have never been able to

come up with a great grade in English class. Hopefully my skills when writing, reading, and critical

thinking improve so it can help me in my journey in pursuing my career and school days.
