Reflective Essay
Throughout the time spend during the course of this semester taking English 101
made me realize the importance of some of the skills talked about used throughout the
class, skills that for the most part I thought that I had an already strong understanding of
what goes into and how to effectively use said skills. Skills like writing, reading and
critical thinking we’re all not only expanded on, but put into a new light that I had never
considered before taking this class. As a result I feel more confident overall with my
current writing abilities among other skills not only acquired but strengthened over the
course of the semester. Even though I understand that there’s always room for
improvement down the line during my college career, I fully expect knowledge I’ve
gained from this class to Aid in that pursuit of becoming a better writer as a result.

understand not only the characters with the storyline as a whole help strengthen my then level of
skills. Furthermore I believe that because of this assignment I intern became better at critical
thinking and reading over all. The complexities of each character throughout the story really
required me to practice my critical thinking skills by dissecting each character in a literary sense.
My skills as a writer have also improved due in part to the free wrights assigned during class or
the course of the semester. As a result I became more comfortable and developed the ability to
This semester help me realize the importance that these three skills alone hold with in
regards to the Future English classes I plan to teach throughout the course of my college career.
Critical thinking, writing and The ability to fully understand what you have read are just some of
the things that have overall become strengthened by the activities/assignments I have taken part
