MINISTRY FOR THE SICK AND HOMEBOUND
We are grateful to those who give of their time and care
to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners who
cannot make it to church due to sickness or infirmity. If
you know of anyone who would like to receive
communion in their home or while hospitalized at West
Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish office

That priests, through the modesty and humility
of their lives, commit themselves actively to a
solidarity with those who are most poor.

Jesus withdrew from them and was carried up into

Just before ascending, Jesus
spoke powerful words to his
disciples that echo down to us
today: “I am sending the
promise of my Father upon
you; but stay in the city until
you are clothed with power
from on high.” Two millennia
later, that promise has reached
more than 1.2 billion followers
in the Catholic Church. Still,
few have become clothed with
power from on high. Perhaps
some are waiting for a dramatic revelation.
You may recall a small urge rising up in you —
perhaps the Spirit prompting you to say, “I can do
that!” Your clothing from on high comes only when
your courage and resolve move you to action. God
never asks too much. Small things count. God has

PLEDGE CARDS
A reminder to prayerfully consider completing or
renewing your pledge and returning the card to the
office. A note of thanks to those who have returned
their pledge cards - this will be helpful in planning and
managing our finances. Pledge cards are also in pews.
ANNOUNCING SUMMER WEEKENDS MASS
SCHEDULE TIME CHANGE
During the summer months, with people on vacations
and many off to cottages, all 3 weekend Masses are not
as well attended as they usually are, even with visitors
attending. For JULY AND AUGUST ONLY
(including Aug 31/Sept 1 weekend), we will have the
usual Saturday evening Mass however only ONE
Sunday morning Mass at 10:00 a.m. Mass intentions
that have already been booked on those weekends
will be revised.
ARE YOU REGISTERED IN OUR PARISH?
If you are new to the parish or have been attending
Mass here, ensure that you are registered by completing
the tear off section at the front of this bulletin. Please
do not take for granted that you are registered in the
parish, just because you attend Mass here. In the
future, should you be in need of a pastorall letter
(godparent, school, sponsor for confirmation, teacher
referral, etc.), it would be difficult to issue one if you
are not formally registered with the parish.
CONFIRMATION
Congratulations to the grade 8
students from St. Mark and St.
Edward School who received the
Sacrament of Confirmation on
Saturday June 1st with Bishop Bergie
as the celebrant. Please remember
these students in your prayers as they
continue in their spiritual journey. Thank you to all
who assisted with the preparation of the students for the
sacrament.
FIRST FRIDAY ADORATION

You are invited to come and spend a holy
hour with Jesus.
PRIESTS RETREAT
The Priests of the Diocese of St. Catharine’s will be on
their annual retreat this week. There will be no
weekday Mass until Friday, June 7th at 9:00 a.m.
followed by Eucharistic Adoration until noon.
If you would like to have a Mass
offered for someone, contact the
parish office for dates and times
which are available. The stipend
or offering given is $10. Mass
cards are available for $2 if you
wish to give them to whomever
you choose so that they may also
participate in the Mass.
SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR EDUCATION OF
PRIESTS AND SEMINARIANS
Next weekend, we take up a special Diocesan collection
for the Education of Seminarians. Please open your
hearts and support this annual seminary collection and
let us be thankful to God for calling the seminarians to
serve all of us. Please use the envelope stapled to this
weekend’s bulletin or pick one up one the round table
in the vestibule. Thank you for your support.
