Purpose
This document is intended to help you ensure that all your OTM and GTM Cloud Service custom built
Reports and analytic Dashboards are saved in the correct location so that they are preserved during the
upgrade process.

This includes all custom built Reports and analytic Dashboards created using BI Publisher Reports and/or
Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) Reports/Dashboards (referred to as Fusion
Transportation Intelligence (FTI)/Global Trade Intelligence (GTI) within the OTM or GTM Cloud Service).

The information referenced here is current as of the release date of this document. However, this
information may be subject to additional details and separate updates.

Please familiarize yourself with the information in this guide, together with the My Oracle Support
(MOS) document: Release Upgrade Planning: Oracle Transportation and Global Trade Management
Cloud Service (Doc ID 2095528.1), prior to logging a Service Request (SR) with Global Customer Support.

1
Introduction
If you or your Implementation Partner have created any custom BI Publisher Reports and/or Oracle
Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) Reports/Dashboards, you should read this document
carefully and take the actions described to ensure your custom Reports or analytics Dashboards are
preserved during the upgrade process.

This document explains how to move all your custom built Reports or analytic Dashboards into a
“Custom” Shared Folder where they will be preserved during the upgrade process. All Reports and
Dashboards that require preserving must be moved prior to the start of the upgrade and moved on all of
your environments, for example, Production, Test and any additional Test environments you may have
purchased. Custom built Reports that are not moved to the Custom Shared folder will be lost during the
upgrade process.

This document is divided into:

1. Instructions for Users of BI Publisher Reports and

2. Instructions for Users of OBIEE Reports/Dashboards

If you are uncertain whether you have any custom Reports or analytic Dashboards, please contact the
company that implemented the Oracle Global Trade Management and Transportation Management
Cloud Service on your behalf.

2
1. Instructions for Users of BI Publisher Reports
The following instructions should be used to move any custom created BI Publisher Reports into the
“Custom” Shared folder. This folder and all its contents will be preserved during the upgrade process.
Custom built Reports not moved to the “Custom” Shared folder will be lost during the upgrade process.

1. Login to the BI Publisher console and click on the “Catalog Folders” link. See the screenshot
below:

3
2. Click on the “Shared Folders” folder.

3. Click on the “New” icon and select “Folder”.

4. When prompted, name the new folder “Custom”. See the screenshot below:

4
Under the “Custom” folder you can create a sub-folder structure to differentiate your BI
Publisher Reports from your OBIEE Reports and Dashboards and organize your reports
according to your preference. Everything inside the “Custom” folder and its sub-folders
will be preserved during the upgrade.

5. Navigate to the folder containing your customer Reports, i.e. “/Shared Folders/Reports”. For
each Report, there will be a “Data Model” that looks like this:

and a “Report” that looks like this:

6. Both the “Data Model” and the “Report” must be relocated to the new “Custom” folder. For
each “Data Model” and “Report”, click the “More” link and select “Copy”. See the screenshot
below:

5
7. Click on the “Custom” Folder and click the “Paste” link in the “Tasks” menu in the bottom left
corner of the screen. See the screenshot below:

6
8. Navigate back to the original report, click the “More” link, and select “Rename”.

When prompted, add “.bak” to the name and click the “Rename” button as shown in the
screenshot below. Renaming the original Report helps prevent it being used in error. It is not
necessary to delete the old reports that you renamed with “.bak” as they will be deleted
automatically during the upgrade process.

7
9. After copying the “Report” and “Data Model” to the “Custom” folder, the report must be
modified to reference the newly relocated “Data Model”. For each “Report” in the “Custom”
Folder, click the “Edit” link. See screenshot below:

10. Click on the “Select Data Model” icon.

8
11. When prompted, select the corresponding “Data Model” that you copied to the “Custom”
folder and click “Open”.

12. Click the “Save Report” icon in the top right corner of the menu.

13. Click the “View Report” icon to make sure the Report is working.

14. Click the “Catalog” link to return to the report Catalog view. Repeat the steps above for all your
Reports.

9
15. After copying all of the reports to the “Custom” folder, login to the OTM/GTM user interface
and navigate to “Business Process Automation > Power Data > Document Generation >
Reports”. See the screenshot below:

16. Click “Search” to search for all Reports.

17. Click edit on each custom Report and change the “Report URL” to reflect the new Catalog Path
of the copied Report. See screenshot below:

18. Click “Finished” when done.

19. Finally, run each Report to make sure it was successfully moved. You should test each Report
again after the upgrade process has successfully completed.

10
20. Repeat these instructions for all custom Reports that you want to preserve in each of your
environments (i.e., Test and Production).

NOTE: Oracle recommends that as a best practice all new Reports are created and stored inside the
“Shared Folders/Custom” folder. This will ensure they are preserved during all future upgrades
without having to move them again. All Reports inside the “Custom” folder will be preserved so you
can create any sub-folder structure you require for organizing and storing your Reports.

2. Instructions for Users of OBIEE (Fusion Transportation Intelligence
(FTI)/Global Trade Intelligence (GTI))

The following instructions should be used to move any of the custom created OBIEE Reports or
Dashboards into the “Custom” Shared folder. This folder and all its contents will be preserved during
the upgrade process. Custom built Reports not moved to the “Custom” Shared folder will be lost during
the upgrade process.

These instructions apply only to the Reports and Dashboards inside the “/Shared Folders” of the
Catalog. Any Reports or Dashboards inside the “/My Folders”, including individual user’s “My
Dashboard” or other user specific analysis, will automatically be preserved during the upgrade process.

1. Login to the OBIEE home page and select “Browse Oracle BI Presentation Catalog”. See
screenshot below:

2. Navigate to the “Shared Folders” in the Catalog. If the “Custom” shared folder has not already
been created, then create it using the New > Folder option. See the screenshot below:

12
3. Enter “Custom” as the folder name in the New Folder dialog and click OK.

4. We recommend creating the following sub-folders inside the Custom folder:

 FTI Dashboards
 FTI Prompts
 FTI Reports
 GTI Dashboards
 GTI Prompts
 GTI Reports
The final structure of the Custom folder should be as follows:

13
5. Navigate to your custom FTI Dashboards and copy them by selecting the More > Copy links as
shown below:

6. Navigate to the FTI Dashboards folder inside “Custom” and paste the copied FTI Dashboard
using the “Paste” action as shown in the screenshot below:

14
7. Using Copy/Paste, copy all the custom FTI dashboards into the FTI Dashboards folder, any
custom FTI analyses into the FTI Reports folder and any custom FTI prompts into the FTI
Prompts folder. Repeat this process to copy any custom GTI Dashboards, Reports or Prompts
into the corresponding GTI folders.

Dashboard Modifications Required

When a Report that is referenced by a Dashboard is moved, the Dashboard should be modified to use
the new path of the Report or Analysis. If there are any Dashboards that use custom Reports or Analysis
created by the user, then the Dashboard should be updated as follows:

1. Navigate to FTI/GTI Dashboards folder inside the “Custom” folder, select the Dashboard to
modify and click on “Edit”.

2. In the edit screen of the Dashboard, the Reports or Analysis used by Dashboard is visible. The
Dashboard will reference the old path of the Report. Delete the existing Report or Analysis from
the Dashboard. See the screenshot below:

15
3. Select the Report or Analysis that you copied to the “Custom” folder.

16
4. Drag and Drop the Report or Analysis onto the Dashboard. Repeat for each Report or Analysis in
the Dashboard and then click the “Save” icon.

5. Repeat the steps above for each of the custom Dashboards.

6. Once completed, all custom Dashboards should now reside inside the “Custom” folder and any
Report that these Dashboards reference should also reside inside the “Custom” folder and
within the correct sub-folders.
7. Test your custom Dashboards and analysis are working as expected, and we recommend you
test again post-upgrade.
8. Repeat these instructions to preserve your custom Reports and Dashboards in all other
environments as required.

NOTE: Oracle recommends that as a best practice all new Reports and Dashboards are created and
stored inside the “Shared Folders/Custom” folder. This will ensure they are preserved during all
future upgrades without having to move them again. All Reports inside the “Custom” folder will be
preserved so you can create any sub-folder structure you require for organizing and storing your
Reports.
