Essential Question

What are the common properties do solutions have?

Stage 2: Assessment Evidence

Performance Task

G – Students will have a concrete understanding on the different properties of

solutions.
R – Students will work in groups to analyze the questions given and formulate an
answer.
A – Each member will share their answer on the questions given during activity.
S – Depends on the number of students in the class, it will consist of 3 groups.
P – Each group will answer the following questions based on the experiment they
perform.
S – Each group scores will depend on the number of correct/wrong answers they
obtain.

*The activity sheet is attach on this lesson plan.

- Recitation
- Homework
- Quizzes

Stage 3: Learning Plan

1. Introduction to Essential Question. Allow students to answer the essential

questions according to their prior knowledge.
2. The class will have an activity called “What Solutions do You Find in Your Home?”
and they will be divided into 5 group. Each group will identify at least 5 common
solutions seen in home and establishment and describe their characteristics. They
have 5 minutes to finished their work.
3. The class will have a brief discussion on their work.
4. Students will perform an experiment called “What are the properties of solutions?”
and they will be divided into 3 group. The instructions on performing the experiment
will be indicated on the activity sheet. They need to answer the questions after
performing the experiment and put it on the Manila paper. Each group will have 20
minutes to finished their work. Their performance will be graded based on the rubrics
scale.
5. There will be a discussion on the Properties while checking their answers on the
experiment they perform. Each group will be given 3 minutes to discuss their
answers.
6. Students will try to answer again the Essential Question based on what they have
learned on the topic.
7. The class will have a short quiz on the topic.
8. Student’s homework for the next day will be on Solubility.
