Chapter 4
This chapter present the data gathered, the result of the analysis done and
interpretation of findings. These are presented in tables following the sequence of the
specific research prolem regarding The Advantages and Disadvantages of Tech-Voc Track
as ICT Senior High School Students in Senoir High School within Sapang Biabas
DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE
Table 1 present the demographic background of our respondents which is the ICT
102 Senior High School Students. These data doesn’t answer any of the researcher’s
statement of the problem but it is somehow needed to determine the reason wy the
respondents are taking ICT Strand. According to Boyer (1987), "In taking a course, one
life’s major decision is being made. A lot of time, money, and effort will be involved. The

The first problem of this study focused on the advantages of taking ICT strand as

The first advantage of taking ICT strand is having a knowledge relating computer.
ICT effectively and appropriately to access, create and communicate information and ideas
in all learning areas at school and in their lives beyond school. In short taking ICT will help
the students to enhance their skills. Another advantage of taking ICT strand will be able to
find related job opportunities. According to Bhenks (2016), the TVL track is a viable
option to get jobs faster. TVL track teaches practical hands-on skills and comes with
industry partnerships by its immersion program that will give students on-the-job
experience. In short taking ICT strand will help all students to find their job right after
The second problem of this study focused on the disadvantage of taking ICT strand

According to J. Fetalver, because of free education, the government can’t supply the needs,
materials and equipment which can increase the quality of education. This is also one of the
disadvantages stated in the Table 3 which is Lack of ICT Laboratory/ICT Teachers with
these Amedorme stated that because of Lack of laboratory and materials that the students
need, a new problem occurred. Teachers who had not experienced ICT throughout their
learning tend to have a negative attitude towards it, as they may lack of training in that area
of the curriculum.

The third problem focused on the benefits of taking ICT strand as Senior High
School Students.
Table 4 presents the gathered data about the benefits of taking ICT strand as Senior
High School Student of SHS within Sapang Biabas Elementary School. The data gathered
data will answered the Statement of the Problem 3. According to Priyanka Gupta (2017),
“Technical and Vocational Education is concerned with the preparation of learners for
employment, providing them with knowledge, skills and attitudes desirable in the world of
work. It would be logical to state that vocational education must include technology deeply
as the working world already is ruled by ICT and hence should include training in ICT

Disadvantages of taking Tech-voc track as ICT Senior High School Students within
Sapang Biabas Elementary School. Based on the result of the survey (questionnaire). The
“Advanced preparation for ICT college courses”, and “ICT related job opportunities”.

The students of the ICT strand are grouped according to their age and gender. It is
shown that the advantage of taking ICT stand is having knowledge relating to computer
which is likely to be used in their future and also the disadvantage are lack of computer
Under the benefits of taking of ICT strand 95% of the students said Yes while 5%
said No. Overall, the study proved that the ICT strand is an Advantegeous strand and
RECOMMENDATION
Based on the results of the study, the researcher’s recommendations are as follow;
1 .The researchers recommend that the students would aware of choosing their courses
positively.
3. The researchers recommend improving the study, by using the same method in
investigating.
