IMPORTANCE OF ATTITUDE

Attitude in Organizations
Ones attitude determines how s/he looks at failures and success. It is a stepping
stone for those who think positively and it is a road block for those who think
negatively. Many organizations stress on employee relationships, feelings,
attitude and think of their betterment so that there is an increase in productivity
of there services.
On the basis of attitude there are two types of negative people in an organization
one who don’t know how to do their work (lack of training) and other who know
their work but don’t want to do.

Holistic Approach To Attitude


We inculcate attitudes from our environment , some attitudes are inherited and
some attitudes we build from our inside which is not taught to us.
But there are mainly three factors that have direct effect on our attitude those
are
1. Environment
2. Experience
3. Education
They are the triple E’s of attitude formation. Let us discuss each of them
individually
1. Environment
The environment in which a person lives in directly affects his behavior and
lifestyle and hence forms his attitude. There are some factors like
environment in Home, Organization he works in, Society, Media, Religious
and cultural beliefs etc. All of these taken together inculcates values into
the person which transforms into her attitude.
2. Experience
The values a person learn with the passage of time whether good or bad,
small or big which has direct or indirect influence on the society or the
organization come under this category.
3. Education
A well educated person is mostly a well behaved person too. Education is
not limited to our schools and colleges but we learn everyday from what
we see and observe and how we react to them on the basis of our
education is our attitude.

How to recognize people with positive attitude

It is often said absence of ill health doesn’t guarantee a good health similarly
absence of negative traits does not guarantee a person with a positive attitude.
There needs to be some parameters for measuring the attitude of a person.
A person with positive attitude must be caring, confident, a good team player,
patient and humble. They always anticipate positive outcomes and are like fruit of
all seasons who is always welcomed.

Benefits of Positive Attitude

There are many fruitful benefits of positive attitude person on the environment
they work in like
1. It increases the positivity of the workplace.
2. There is always a solution to every problem.
3. They ignite the spirit of teamwork.
4. Better relationships with clients and customers.
5. Reduces the stress level of the workplace
And many more

Consequences of Negative Attitude

A negative attitude person also has a drastic impact on the work culture of a
workplace like
1. They decrease the productivity or output of the workplace.
2. They spread bitterness in the environment.
3. They pass on their negative attitude to others.
4. They are not goal oriented and hence their organization suffers.
