Las áreas metropolitanas en Colombia surgieron a raíz de la necesidad de abrir

nuevos espacios para que los pequeños municipios o poblaciones de bajos ingresos
pudieran tener oportunidades para expandirse en el mercado o apoyarse entre las
mismas para crear un ente con un alto nivel de progreso. En Colombia existen seis
áreas metropolitanas establecidas oficialmente y que han aportado
significativamente al mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de los habitantes,
significando un desarrollo importante para la región donde se encuentran
establecidas. A raíz de esto surge la idea de presentar la propuesta de crear un
Área metropolitana en el departamento de Boyacá conformada por los municipios
de la provincia de Sugamuxi, aprovechando ese potencial turístico con el que
cuenta, y que no ha sido debidamente aprovechado en la región, ya que Boyacá y
en específico la provincia de Sugamuxi cuenta con variedad cultural, social y
recursos naturales de gran importancia Nacional e Internacional.
“El apostar por el turismo accesible es una oportunidad de negocios para los actores
y promotores locales, identificar los nichos de mercados con discapacidad y
diversidad es lo más importante y no perder esa oportunidad de negocio que se
pueda generar espacios como hoteles, restaurantes y atractivos turísticos”, explicó

De acuerdo a lo anterior, este artículo pretende ver la viabilidad y oportunidad de la
creación de Un Área Metropolitana en Boyacá, y más exactamente en un sector aún
no tan avanzado en la economía regional, pero que si se desarrollara podría generar
un impacto positivo en el reconocimiento, economía y desarrollo Regional
