Applications from the eligible candidates are invited for the following posts on the prescribed form
(along with detailed qualifications, experience requirements & other relevant information) obtainable
from the respective offices mentioned below against each post on any working day from 10.00
a.m. to 4.00 p.m. in cash at the counter by 27.10.2016 for these posts. The application forms can
also be obtained by post from these concerned offices by sending requisite cost of the application
form in the shape of bank draft in favour of the Comptroller, PAU, Ludhiana payable at Ludhiana
along with self addressed envelope (28x12 cms) bearing postage stamps of Rs.40/- by 15.10.2016.
The duly completed application forms for the posts with prescribed fee (as mentioned below against

Pay scales and other service conditions for the above posts wherever applicable
will be governed as per Punjab Government’s notification No.7/204/2012-4FP1/60
dated 15.1.2015 and circular No.7/204/2012-4FP1/66 dated 15.1.2015 and any other
instructions issued by Punjab Government from time to time in this regard.
Important
1. Applications, which are incomplete/ not on the prescribed form/ received after the last date/
received without prescribed application fee shall not be considered. The University shall
not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in transit.
2. Higher start or advance increments can be given to the deserving candidates.
3. Post at Sr. No.1to 3 are tenurial post for a term of four years
4. In service candidates should apply through proper channel.
5. For posts at Sr. No.4 to 33, number of posts can be increased or decreased
6. For posts at Sr.No.1 to 18, the minimum age of entry is 18 years and retirement age is 60
years.
7. For posts at Sr. No.19 to 33 age not less than 18 years and not more than 37 years as on
1.1.2016.
8. For posts at Sr.No. 4 to 33, the appointment to these posts shall be co-terminus with
the schemes in which these are provided
9. For Post at Sr.No. 4 to 18 : 3% of the posts are reserved for physically handicapped
persons belonging to Punjab state with 40% or more disability and the breakup of this
reservation is as under:-
i) Blindness of low vision : 1%
ii) Hearing Impairment : 1%
iii) Locomotor disability or cerebral palsy (Ortho impaired) : 1%

Attested copies of the Certificates regarding proof of handicapped and extent


thereof, issued by Civil Surgeon of the district or place of which applicant is a permanent
resident should be attached. It would also be certified in the medical certificate that the
applicant is otherwise fit for the post he/she is applying for. However, if eligible persons are
not found available in response to this advertisement, the posts will be filled out of other
category/ categories and the points meant for persons with disabilities shall be carried
forward for being filled from future vacancies.
10. For posts at Sr.Nos.8 to 18, only short-listed candidates will be called for interview.
11. For post at Sr. No. 10 and 27 - 30 , who have already applied for these posts in
response to earlier advertisements should apply afresh.
12. The candidate must fulfill the requisite qualifications by the last date of receipt of
applications i.e. 27.10.2016.
13. While making any correspondence with reference to the above recruitment, the candidate
must mention his/her contact number.
14. All the candidates should attach photo copies of their qualifications(Detail Marks
Cards), experience and other relevant documents failing which no mark(s) (wherever
applicable) will be awarded to them and they can also be declared ineligible for the
post in absence of these documents.

15 Pay scales and other service conditions for the above posts wherever applicable
will be governed as per Punjab Government’s notification No.7/204/2012-4FP1/60
dated 15.1.2015 and circular No.7/204/2012-4FP1/66 dated 15.1.2015 and any other
instructions issued by Punjab Government from time to time in this regard.

v) Twelve years’ experience in research/teaching/extension out of which atleast 5 years


must be as Professor/equivalent with experience of having conducted research work
independently in any discipline of Agriculture* and published its results in scientific
journals of repute.

vi) Experience in organizing, supervising and coordinating scientific research in any field of
agriculture.

vii) Administrative experience, leadership, ability and capacity to organize and supervise the
work of others.

viii) Matric level certificate of Punjabi language of Punjab School Education Board or any other
equivalent ( if not, the candidate is required to pass the same within one year of
appointment).

*Agriculture includes the basic and applied sciences of soil and water management, crop
and home sciences and the betterment of rural people.

(Medical/non-medical, basic science and agricultural engineering degrees are included in


the definition of “Agriculture”.)

4. Soil Chemist in the pay scale of Rs.37400-67000+AGP 9000/-

i) B.Sc. (Agri.)/B.Sc. (Horticulture)/B.Sc.(Forestry)/B.Sc (Med.)/ B.Sc. (Non-med.).

ii) Ph.D degree in Soil Science with specialization in soil fertility/chemistry.

iii) At least second division at Bachelor’s level and 65% marks or OCPA of 6.50 out of
10.00 at Master’s level.

iv) Eight years experience in teaching/research/extension education in the relevant area at


the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent. (The period spent in obtaining Ph.D.
degree will not be counted as research/teaching/extension experience).

v) Substantial contributions to research and scholarship as evidenced by the quality of


papers published. The candidate has minimum 7 full length publications having
cumulative NAAS rating not less than 20.0 on the last date of submission of application.

Or

The candidate has minimum 10 publications in the Journals rated and /or not rated by
NAAS on the last date of submission of application. The publications will be evaluated
by the committee.

vi) Must have passed Matric level certificate of Punjabi language from Punjab School
Education Board or any other recognized Board (as first or second language). ( if not,
the candidate is required to pass the same within one year of appointment).

5. Associate Professor of Computer Science & Engineering in the pay scale of


Rs.37400-67000+AGP 9000/-

i) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/ Computer Science and


Engineering/Information Technology/Electronics and Communication/Computer Instrumentation/
Instrumentation/Electronic and Instrumentation Engineering.

ii) Ph.D. degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/ Computer Science and Engineering/
Information Technology or any other branch of Computer Science/Engineering.

iii) Atleast second division at Bachelor level and 65% marks or OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 at
Master’s level.

iv) Eight Years’ experience in teaching/research/extension in the Computer Science/Computer


Engineering/Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology or any other branch of
Computer Science/Engineering at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent. (The period
spent in obtaining Ph.D degree will not be counted as research/teaching/extension experience).

v) Substantial contributions to research and scholarship as evidenced by the quality of papers


published. The candidate has minimum 7 full length publications having cumulative NAAS rating
not less than 20.0 on the last date of submission of application,
OR
The Candidate has minimum 10 publications in the journals rated and/or not rated by NAAS on
the last date of submission of application. The research publications will be evaluated by the
committee.

vi) Matric level certificate of Punjabi language of Punjab School Education Board or any other
recognized Board/agency (as first or second language) (If not, the candidate is required to pass
the same within one year of appointment).

Desirable:
Experience in developing e-governance solutions and handling campus wide network for IT
services.

Note: The degree awarded should be as per AICTE/UGC, DEC/IGNOU (in case of distant
mode) and Minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. degree, Regulation 2009.

Job Responsibilities:

i) Implementation of e-governance at PAU and handling of PAU campus network


services for IT services.
ii) To undertake teaching/research/extension activities.
iii) To take initiative for developing research projects and to obtain funding.

ii) Doctorate degree in Vegetable Crops/Vegetable Science/Horticulture (Veg.)/Olericulture

iii) At least second division at Bachelor’s level and 65% marks or OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00
at Master’s level

iv) Eight years experience in teaching/research/extension education in the relevant area at


the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent. (The period spent in obtaining Ph.D.
degree will not be counted as research/teaching/extension experience).

v) Substantial contributions to research and scholarship as evidenced by the quality of


papers published. The candidate has minimum 7 full length publications having cumulative

i) B.Sc(Biotech)/B.Sc/B.Sc(Agri.)

ii) Master’s degree in Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Genetics/Plant Breeding & Genetics.

iii) Atleast second division at Bachelor’s level and 65% marks or OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00
at Master’s level.

iv) Must have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) in the relevant discipline conducted by
ASRB/UGC/CSIR with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural
Sciences, New Delhi) rated refereed journal and equivalent.

v) Matric level certificate of Punjabi language of Punjab School Education Board or any other
recognized Board/agency (as first or second language) (If not, the candidate is required
to pass the same within one year of appointment).

Note 1: A candidate who does not possess Master’s degree in the relevant subject but
possesses Ph.D. degree in the subject required at Master’s level, shall be eligible for the
post.

Note 2:The candidate holding Doctorate degree in the relevant subject required at Master’s
level shall be exempted from passing NET provided, it has been done with course work as
prescribed by the UGC regulations 2009 and

- The candidate has minimum 2 full length publications having NAAS rating not
less than 5.0 on the last date of submission of application,
OR
- The candidate has full length paper(s) having cumulative NAAS rating not less

i) Ph.D in Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Genetics/Plant Breeding and Genetics


ii) Post doctoral research experience in Molecular Genetics/Genomics.

Job Responsibilities:

i) Development and maintenance of genetic populations, development of genetic


maps, gene mapping, SNP development and utilization of molecular markers.
ii) BAC finger printing, DNA sequences using both sanger sequencing method and
next gen sequencing approaches.
iii) Gene validation using genetic transformation.
iv) Teaching of molecular genetics/molecular biology courses.
v) Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

iv) Must have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) in the relevant discipline conducted by
ASRB/UGC/CSIR with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural
Sciences, New Delhi) rated refereed journal and equivalent.

v) Must have passed Matric level certificate of Punjabi language from Punjab School
Education Board or any other recognized Board (as first or second language).

Note 1: A candidate who does not possess Master’s degree in the relevant subject but
possesses Ph.D. degree in the subject required at Master’s level, shall be eligible for the
post.

ii) Master’s degree in Agril. Meteorology/Agril. Physics with specialization in Agril.


Meteorology.

iii) Atleast second division at Bachelor’s level and 65% marks or OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00
at Master’s level.

iv) Must have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) in the relevant discipline conducted by
ASRB/UGC/CSIR with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural
Sciences, New Delhi) rated refereed journal and equivalent.

v) Matric level certificate of Punjabi language from Punjab School Education Board or any
other recognized Board/Agency (as first or second language). If not, the candidate is

32. Chowkidar in the pay scale of Rs. 4900-10680+1650 GP

Essential Qualifications :

i) Matriculation
ii) Knowledge of Punjabi up to Matric level
iii) Two years’ experience as Field/ Lab. Helper in the relevant field.
OR
iv) 5 years’ experience as Jr.Field / Lab. Helper in the relevant field.
Or
Worked for 10 years as DPL in the relevant field.
v) Age 18 to 37 years as on 1.1.2016 (relaxation in age as per reservation rules of
Punjab Govt.)

Note: i) The applicant shall have to take a written test of Matric level ( Math & Punjabi
with 50% marks for each subject).
ii) The candidates having higher qualification will be preferred.
iii) The experience of DPL will be confirmed from the concerned HOD / Station
Director by the Controlling Officer.

The following selection criteria and the corresponding allocation of marks for the
said post(s) has been decided as under :

Educational qualifications, written test and experience: Maximum marks 100

Weightage of each component of Selection criteria :

Matric 60 marks
10+2 10 marks
Written test 20 marks
Experience 10 marks
