Lesson Plan on Art Education 7, Quarter 1


Module 1: Visual Arts of Mainland Luzon High Lands and Lowlands

Topic: Geographic and Historical background

Specific Learning Competency/ies or Objectives. The learners are expected to:

inspired by the arts of Luzon (highlands and lowlands)

B. Recapitulation of the previous lesson/s: Orientation of the Scriptural


Message and Venerable Al’s Messages (2 minutes). Since it is the first day of the
Module, present the values to be integrated in the lesson through the Scriptural
Message and Fr. Al’s Message.

C. Motivation: Picture Analysis (Big Group Activity - 10 minutes) – Creative


Thinking, Critical Thinking/Responsibility

1. Show the picture of Philippine Map.
2. Give the students time to analyze what map is being shown.
3. Call students randomly to share to the whole class the 3 major islands in
the Philippines.
4. Encourage the students to recall their prior knowledge to the whole.
Note: This activity will serve as the basis into which information provided
in A2 shall the teacher give to the students. The teacher will emphasize in
the discussion that it is necessary to study significant geographic and
historical background of the places where the folk arts originated.

2. Give the students time to analyze the images.
3. Call students randomly to share to the whole class the regions and
provinces.
4. Encourage the students 6to recall their prior knowledge to the
whole class about the things that they could recall about the
region and provinces.

Process the activity by asking the students with the following processing questions:

1. Which of the following region you wanted to visit?


2. What geographic and historical facts each region in Luzon is known for?

Note: This activity will serve as the basis into which information provided
in A2 shall the teacher give to the students. The teacher will emphasize in
the discussion that it is necessary to study significant geographic and
historical background of the places where the folk arts originated.

2. INSTRUCTION and INTERVENTION: One Stray-Team Stay (Small Group


Activity – 30 minutes) – Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Collaboration,
Communication /Responsibility

Note: The teacher will divide the class into 5 groups. Each group will be
given a map (Regions CAR, I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B) as well as some inputs from
the module. Each group will study or brainstorm the information that is
given by the teacher. Afterwards, they will choose 1 representative to be the
reporter. The representatives each group will be given only 5 minutes to
explain to the other group their field of expertise while the remaining
members will take down notes. If the teacher will say “move” the reporter
will transfer to the other group and so on. After the reporters have finished
their task. The teacher will call students randomly to check or assess their
knowledge.
