• 70% of SMEs are keen to embark on digital transformation
journey, with focus in Business Operations (37%), Customer
Service (29%) and Marketing of Products & Services (39%),
amongst others
• SMEs intend to tap on Industry Transformation Map (ITM)
programmes for assistance and direction, including to Improve
Industry’s Manpower Skillsets (39%), Ways to Innovate &
Improve Business Model (31%), amongst others

• Strong Human Resource and developing employees’ competencies are essential to drive
such business strategies and growth

• HR capabilities correlate with economic performance. Companies that have strong


capabilities in HR topics – such as talent and leadership; engagement, behaviour, and
culture management; and HR strategy, planning and analytics – show significantly better
financial performance than companies that are weaker in those areas.^
