This chapter explains the setting method for performing program operation, the method of
starting and ending operation, and the displays of monitors.
Reference
By using a Web application, the setting of program operation, operation, and monitoring
can be performed remotely. For details, see the Network guide.
Program operation changes the settings of the temperature and humidity in the test area in
accordance with the program that you create by combining temperature and humidity steps.
For each program pattern, up to 99 steps of operation data can be edited or registered.
By setting the time, temperature, humidity and ramp for each step, you can operate the
equipment according to an arbitrary time control as shown below.

Enter the temperature, humidity, and setting time for each step to create or edit an operation
pattern.
<Procedure>
1) Press the Program Setup tab.
To create a new program, select an unregistered program number from the program
list.
If no programs are registered, no names are displayed in the program list.

Setting Set Temp/Hum CTRL to OFF causes only the time to pass.
If Set Temp/Hum CTRL of step 1 is set to OFF, this creates a wait time until starting
temperature/humidity control. In other words, this can be used as an operation start timer.
The upper and lower limits of the input range are determined by the temperature range of
the equipment and High/Low Limit setting of [Others].
Reference
For the upper and lower limits, the values entered in "4.4.4 Entering high/low limit setup"
are reflected.

When you perform ramp control in Step 1, select the start conditions (Process Value, Set
Point) in the start condition setup that you access by pressing [DETAIL] on the Edit
Program screen.
* If you set start conditions to OFF, ramp control is not performed even if the set point is
entered in the step input screen.
For details, see "4.4 Setting program details."
7) Set the soak time control to maintain operation at the temperature/humidity set point.
Select [ON] or [OFF] to configure this setting.
ON: Soak time control is performed.
OFF: Soak time control is not performed.
When [ON] is set: After the step operation starts, the equipment waits until the
process value reaches the control attainment range, and then
starts counting the time ( see "5.11.3 Setting the control
attainment range").Therefore, the soak time in the
temperature/humidity set point is the same as the setting time.
If the soak time control is set to [ON], it is not possible to set
Ramp Control to [ON]. When set to [ON], the message “Incorrect
ramp and soak control setup entered” appears. Change the
setting.
When [OFF] is set: The equipment starts counting the time at the same time that
step operation starts.

Preventing condensation on the specimen
When conducting a test of the electronic components, make certain that the specimen is not
affected by condensation.
Condensation occurs when the surface temperature of the specimen is lower than the dew point
of the air in the test area.
To avoid condensation on the specimen, it is necessary to perform temperature-only operation in
advance and start temperature/humidity control operation after the surface temperature of the
specimen becomes the same as the temperature in the test area.
In addition, condensation can be avoided by using humidification delay control.
If the temperature and humidity in the test area is 85°C and 85%RH, respectively, the dew-point
temperature of the air in the test area is 80.9°C. Therefore, condensation occurs if the surface
temperature of the specimen is less than 80.9°C. The following shows the dew-point temperature.

(1) In Step 2, increase the temperature to 85°C. If the humidity is increased to 85%RH at the same
time, the surface temperature of the specimen becomes lower than the dew-point temperature
and condensation may occur. Therefore, control only the temperature to 85°C. The time during
which Step 2 should be performed differs depending on the heat capacity of the specimen. As
a general guide, the time during which the temperature in the test area is stabilized to 85°C
may be used.
(2) In Step 3, perform operation at 85°C and 85%RH. Though humidity control starts,
condensation can be avoided because the surface temperature of the specimen is nearly
85°C.
