I. Review
a. What is computer configuration?
b. What is the use of computer configuration?

II. Motivation
a. Would you like to learn configure to computers all by yourself?
b. Why would you like to know how to configure?
Activity/Strateg a. Activity (Group Activity)
y (5 minutes). Can you list some important parts of the computer found inside the casing? What are
their functions?
Show your answers through this chart.
Part of a Computer Function

Analysis The learner’s will be asked by the following questions:

(5minutes). 1. What did you do in the activity?
2. What did you learn from the activity?
3. What did you notice about the activity given?

Abstraction (15 The teachers will process the learner’s responses and give inputs about the basic
minutes). components of computers.

• Computer Components and Its Function
• Networking Components
Application (10 a. Activity (Group Activity)
minutes). List down the different network components needed to setup a network.
Determine their functions by completing the chart below
The teacher will let the students do the given task.
 Each group will be given a picture of a company, enterprise or small business that
use the major network components.
 Each group will be given 3 minutes to brainstorm on how to connect the picture
based on their function.
(The main task is to come up with oral presentation focusing on how the network
components in industry is very important)
 Each group will choose one representative to present a 2 minute oral presentation
regarding their group output.

1. How were you able to come up with the desired output?

2. What went well in your activity?
3. What will you do to improve in your group outputs next time you will have another
activity?

b. Activity (Group Activity) Inside the Room

Identify the possible network components that we are now using here in the room.
Choose one and make an explanation why it is a source of communication from one
computer to another.
Assessment (5
minutes). Do the exercise individually.
1. Give the most important component in network that plays a vital role.
2. What is referred to as optical drive?
3. To what is a memory function compared to?
4. What happens when a computer does not have ample amount of energy?
5. What will happen if a switch-hub is not available in the network?

Assignment/Agr Visit the computer laboratory and apply what you have learned from this lesson and
eement identify the following computer components and network that is inside in the laboratory.
