Explain why the British Steel Engineering Steels (BSES) incorporated health and safety training as
part of their total quality management.
a. By its nature, British Steel Engineering Steels, like any industrial organization, has the
potential to be a hazardous working environment. Large steelworks involve hot metal,
noxious gases, and heavy machinery. BSES’s Health and Safety record has traditionally
been very good. However, the business recognizes that safety attitudes and practices
require continuous improvement.
2. Describe the training cycle for health and safety at BSES.

The Training Cycle for Health and Safety at BSES Specific factors that helped BSES successfully
implement quality health and safety practices in their organization Improvement of Resources
and Capabilities Open Communication Documented safety policies and procedures.

It increase the knowledge and skills and its improves business safety performance.
