Let us all stand and pray. Kindly lead the prayer ( Students will stand and pray)

c. Classroom Management
Okay class, so please remain standing. Put your (Students shake their hand)
hands up and shake, then sideward and shake, (Students will pick up the papers and sit
then put it down and shake again, lower, lower properly)

Very Good! So advertising is a marketing
communication that employs an openly
sponsored, non-personal message to promote
or sell a product, service of idea. And marketing
is the business process of creating relationships
with and satisfying customers.

Discussion
Today, we will discuss about The art of
Advertising and Marketing. Let us find how the
advertising came be.
Advertising dates back to the Egyptian period in
2000 BC when people carved out notices on
steel and posted them outdoors.
During the Middle Ages, in 1472 the religious
produced print advertisements in England to
sell prayer booklets.
- Dentifrice Tooth Gel made the first product
branding.
- During the American revolution, advertising
served a political purpose when enlistment was
announced and encouraged through ads posted
on the wall.
-The first billboard advertising was seen in (Students listen and take a lecture)
1835.
-Neon light electric sign was first seen in New
York in 1882.
-There were also huge commercial stores that
produced handwritten advertisements to sell
their products in 1892.
- The first official television commercial of
Bulova Watch was aired.
- Apple company advertised its Macontish
promo at the Super Bowl in 1984.
- In 1997, the first mobile ad was launched
which provided news through cellphone.

Advertising Campaign. What do you think is the
goal of advertising? (Answers vary)

Good Answer! The goal of advertising is to sell a


product. An advertising campaign includes
exposure of advertisement, via online through
the Internet, print through the use of
newspapers, magazines, tarpaulins and
billboards, or broadcast media through radio or
television.

Advertising campaign consists of several steps.


These steps are:
1. Research on the needs of the target
customer. Find out if there is a demand for your
product and who your competitors are.
2. Identify your target customers and their
location.
3. Prepare a financial budget, keeping in mind
all expenses including media, presentations,
paper and computer work, printing expense,
and exposure time.
4. Choose the theme, the motif and colors, the
music, and voice that go with the product.
5. Select the media that can best reach your
target customers.
6. Choose you media exposure schedule.
Determine the best time to launch your
product.
7. Execute the advertising campaign.

advertising poster should have the following
characteristics and elements.

a. The font type is large enough to be viewed


from a distance.
b. It has a simple and clear layout that allows
the reader to find the information.
c. All important information are included: date,
time, location, contact name and telephone
number.
d. There are dominant elements such as
headline or eye-catching image.
e. The most important message is emphasized
by size, color or value.
f. Its art is related to the message.
g. The font type and imagery are arranged in a
logical, functional sequence.
h. Bold, intense colors enhance rather than
distract the message of the advertisement.

So always remember to put your poster in a


place with the biggest number intended
