MATHEMATICAL MATURITY BY THE MATHEMATICS TRAINERS'
GUILD PHILIPPINES

1. The Mathematics Trainers' Guild (MTG) Philippines will conduct the Seminar on
Enriching Teachers' Olympiad Experience Towards Mathematical Maturity from
June 28 to 30, 2019 at the Trinity Christian School, Villa Angela Subdivision, Don
Fernando Avenue, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

2. The seminar aims to:

a. enhance the competence of mathematics teachers to develop students'

higher order thinking skills and performance output in mathematics,
i.
b. expose the teachers to the culture of high quality mathematics,
c. develop their competence in teaching mathematics through the
introduction of effective strategies to fill in gaps in concepts and skills,
and
d. equip future mathematics teachers in K to 12 with effective teaching
skills that develop students' logical skills and improve learning
techniques of solving challenging problems.

3. The target participants are public and private elementary and secondary
mathematics teachers/ coordinators, head teachers, and supervisors. Registration fee is
free for participants from public schools. Transportation expenses shall be charged to
local funds, subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
